Hello, travelers!
This is Binako, a writer for Sarukuma!
Today, I’m excited to introduce you to
a charming little shop in Musashigaoka, Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Sweet Ribbon”.

This delightful shop specializes in blueberries, with a wide variety of blueberry-themed products lining the shelves inside. ^^

There are about four parking spaces right in front of the shop, so feel free to drive over with peace of mind! (^^âŠ

There’s also a cozy eat-in corner inside, where you can relax and enjoy your treats at a leisurely pace.

While this year’s blueberry picking season (as of FY2020) has already wrapped up, the shop hosts blueberry picking experiences every year starting around July â a wonderful seasonal event to enjoy with family and friends! âŠ

They also carry beautiful herbarium products â perfect as a souvenir!

Here’s their popular Blueberry Juice (1,540 yen).
It’s such a hit that it often sells out!
If you’ve got your eye on it, come early!

There’s also outdoor seating, so on a sunny day you can sip your drink al fresco. (^^âŠ

What I came here for today was the
Blueberry Smoothie â 590 yen
(takeout price).
Since it’s 100% pure blueberry with absolutely no added sweeteners, the staff kindly mentioned I could add syrup if I wanted to. But honestly? It was already plenty delicious without it!
So sweet!!
I’d always associated blueberries with a tart flavor, but this smoothie was incredibly refreshing â with a beautiful natural sweetness that made it so easy to drink down in big gulps!

I drank it down so quickly I forgot to take a picture! It’s a smoothie kids can enjoy too â no syrup needed â which makes it wonderfully wholesome and healthy.
It’s such a relief to know you’re sipping something this pure and natural. A perfect way for both grown-ups and little ones to stay hydrated while having fun! âŠ
Definitely add Sweet Ribbon to your Kumamoto travel itinerary!
