About Heisei 2-chome Park

Hello, this is Suno, a writer for [Sarukuma].

Today, we’re visiting Heisei in Minami Ward, Kumamoto City,
[Heisei 2-chome Park].

This is a quiet little park tucked behind the Gyomu Super on Heisei Odori (Heisei Avenue).It shares the grounds with the Hiyoshi Higashi 1-chome Community Center.

The playground has swings.There’s also a bright red and yellow climbing slide.

The steps are set a bit on the high side, so my 2-year-old daughter had to work hard to climb them. You can do it!But head over to the other side, and…There’s a roller-style toy that even little ones can enjoy. She had a blast spinning it back and forth with both hands!There’s also a sandbox right next to a covered bench ♪Next to the community center, you’ll find separate Japanese-style restrooms for men and women.

Cross the road from the entrance on the Housemate side, and you’ll find a vending machine.There’s no car parking, but you’ll find a bicycle parking area along with a Charichari (bike-share) port.

Why We Recommend Heisei 2-chome Park

The entire ground at Heisei 2-chome Park is covered in grass, which means fewer scrapes and bumps if your little one takes a tumble — such a relief!

While we were there, a mom with a wobbly toddler was visiting too — the soft lawn makes it a wonderfully safe spot for a stroll ♪There’s a circular bench wrapped around a big tree — the perfect spot for a snack break.There’s a hand-washing station and drinking fountain too.This is the bench on the gas station side.
Sunlive City Kumanan shopping center is also nearby, so you can grab a bento box or sandwiches and turn it into a picnic ♪And here’s the bench on the Gyomu Super side.

There are plenty of cherry trees planted around the park, making it a fantastic spot for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) too!
