About the Café
Hello, travelers!
This is Saa-mama, writer for Sarukuma.
Today I’m introducing a lovely spot called
“Clasique”,
located in Shinmachi, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City.

You’ll find Clasique just steps from the Central Post Office and Fukuda Hospital!
The café itself doesn’t have a parking lot, but there are several coin-operated parking spots within walking distance (*^^*)

The café sits right in front of the Shinmachi tram stop, so it’s super easy to reach by Kumamoto’s iconic streetcar ^ – ^♪

Hand sanitizer and good ventilation are provided before you step inside — a thoughtful touch.

Inside, the stylish space offers both counter seating and table seating!

The café is open weekends only. There’s no lunch or full meal service during café hours — instead, the café menu features coffee, desserts, alcohol, and small bites to pair with drinks.
In the evenings, the venue transforms into a place to enjoy natural wine paired with seasonal cuisine (*^^*)
Recommended Menu

Craving something sweet, I dropped by the weekend-only café (*^^*)

This time, I tried the Annou Sweet Potato Crème Caramel (500 yen) and the Warm Chocolate Cake with Banana Ice Cream (650 yen).

The Warm Chocolate Cake with Banana Ice Cream is wonderfully moist and rich, with banana baked right inside.
The banana ice cream — capturing all the best parts of the fruit — is absolutely divine ♡

The Annou Sweet Potato Crème Caramel bursts with deep sweet-potato flavor, and pairs perfectly with the slightly bitter caramel ( *´艸`)

Belle Hélène — Pear Compote with Vanilla Ice Cream and Warm Chocolate Sauce (650 yen)
The warm chocolate sauce is poured over the dessert at the table, making it as much a visual treat as a culinary one ♬
Tea (Minamata Ten no Kocha) — 500 yen
Apple Juice — 600 yen
The apple juice my child enjoyed is 100% pure and remarkably rich (*sorry, I forgot to take a photo!).
Since the streetcar passes right by the café’s front window, my kids were thrilled to watch the trams glide past (*^^*)
Desserts rotate by season, so be sure to check the latest offerings (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
The evening dinner menu looks beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious — and the place is often booked solid, so I’d love to come back for a night out ♡
