About the Restaurant

Hello, travelers!
I’m Ayu-mama, a writer for Sarukuma.

When I first started writing for Sarukuma and was asked to introduce restaurants perfect for moms and little ones, one place came to mind right away.

I had been wanting to share it for ages, but it had been temporarily closed due to COVID-19. Now that it’s finally reopened, I rushed straight over to visit!

Today’s spotlight is on that very place.
Located in Shinmachi, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, it’s
[Natural].

This restaurant is tucked inside the famous Fukuda Hospital, one of the best-known maternity hospitals in Kumamoto.

Don’t worry — it’s open to the general public, not just patients.
Because it’s a natural-food restaurant, you can feed even the smallest children with total peace of mind!

There’s also a small shop right next door.

They sell freshly baked bread and other goodies too!

Inside, social distancing is well managed, so you can dine with confidence.

The first thing I want to highlight is just how thoughtfully designed this place is for babies and small children.

There are baby chairs, of course — and even baby beds!

But take a look at this ↑↑↑
Can you guess what it is?!

It’s a special seat where your baby can sit facing you, so you can feed them while enjoying your own meal at the same time!!!

My son has long outgrown it, but here’s a throwback photo from when he was little so you can see how it works.

Isn’t that amazing?!
I still vividly remember being completely blown away the first time I used it.
I honestly wished I had one at home!

And doesn’t this look absolutely delicious?!

Here’s hoping the baby-feeding service can fully resume again soon!

This time, we ordered the Kids’ Curry (480 yen) and…

the Tomato Sauce Pasta with Mozzarella (1,100 yen).

And it even comes with a salad!

The kids’ curry must have been seriously good — my son polished it off in seconds, like he was practically drinking it!

The tomato pasta arrived in a beautiful, oversized bowl that looked totally Instagram-worthy!

Fukuda Hospital is famous for serving full-course, hotel-quality meals to new mothers, so it’s no surprise the pasta tastes incredibly authentic!
Truly impressive!!

In short — this is a restaurant that pampers both little ones and their moms!
Highly, highly recommended!!!
