📌 What you’ll learn in this article

About the Café

Hello, travelers! It’s Kurumikko, your sarukuma writer (^^)

Today I’m excited to introduce
“MILK’ORO”, a delightful dairy café tucked away in Suya, Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.MILK’ORO is the official café of Oyabu Dairy Farms, meaning every drop of milk comes straight from the cows next door.
Right out front, you can spot peaceful dairy cowsand friendly goats grazing in the open air.
It’s the perfect mix — animal encounters and seriously delicious sweets at the on-site café.
My kids absolutely beg me to come back every time!Step inside and you’re greeted by a bright, sparkly little shop space. One look at the menu and…
everything looks amazing!

The creative names alone will tempt you 🤩
Traveling with little ones? They also offer a kid-sized
Mini Soft Serve for just 200 yen — a perfect treat for tiny hands!

Their signature MILK’ORO Aging Yogurt is a Kumamoto local favorite.
You can also pick it up at Tsuruya Department Store B2F, Foody One, you you, Classino Marché, and Shiraina-sai if you can’t make it out to the farm.

The packaging is elegant with the cutest illustrations — it practically begs you to take a photo before tasting (*’â–½’*)They also sell their hearty Yogurt Chocolate Scones and Caramel Apple Scones as frozen take-home treats — great souvenirs for your hotel room or homestay!

Our Top Menu Picks

On this visit, we tried:
Jersey Soft Serve
Yogurt Strawberry Gelato
Yogurt Scone
Since the indoor café seating wasn’t available during our visit, we enjoyed everything on the bench out front — with the cows mooing happily in the background. A magical scene!
Jersey Soft Serve
This is what “farm-to-cone” really means!
Rich, deeply milky, yet beautifully gentle on the palate (*´▽`*)

Pure dairy heaven 🤩

Yogurt Strawberry Gelato
Look closely and you’ll see real strawberry seeds dotted throughout!

The delicate yogurt aroma mingles beautifully with juicy strawberry chunks for layers of flavor in every spoonful.
A total kid favorite, too 😆

And here’s the Yogurt Scone (*’∀’*)

Break it open and out flows a gooey ribbon of melted chocolate!
Crispy on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside — heaven in every bite.

The yogurt adds a creamy smoothness that takes it to another level (*´▽`*)
I shared mine with my child, but their enthusiasm clearly outpaced mine — ha!

Their little face got messy in the most adorable way, and the thick hand towel they kindly provided saved the day.

MILK’ORO is open Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays — making it a perfect weekend getaway during your Kumamoto trip (^^)
Thank you for the wonderful treats!
