Today I’m excited to introduce you to
“Mimaki Shokudo”,
a charming little eatery tucked away in Wafu, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

You’ll find it right near Kikuchi High School, sitting along the same street ♪
The wonderfully retro exterior is just irresistible ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

And yes, the famous “Swimming Taiyaki-kun” character is hanging out here too! (haha)

The parking area is on the right-hand side as you face the shop from across the street.

Step inside, and the retro vibe carries right through! ♡
It honestly feels like stepping into a time machine!

There’s a comforting, familiar atmosphere — almost like visiting your Japanese grandmother’s house (◍•ᴗ•◍)

And look — Swimming Taiyaki-kun is here too! (lol)
It’s turning into a fun little game of “find the Taiyaki-kun”… (lol)

Generous portions of cabbage and pork, with a sauce that’s perfectly balanced — not too rich, not too light (๑♡⌓♡๑)

Absolutely amazing! ☆

The double portion of noodles makes it super filling too ☆

Even my big appetite (lately I’ve been eating like a competitive eater!)
was completely satisfied (人*´∀`)。*゚+

and the wonderful couple who run the place — you can really feel why
this spot is treasured by locals as “a treasure of Kikuchi.”
