Welcome to Tenjo Tetsudo

Hello travelers! It’s Sashimi, writer for [Sarukuma] (・∀・)

Today I’m introducing a charming spot in Misumi-machi, Uki City:
[Tenjo Tetsudo] — a stylish cafe with an incredible model railway diorama.

Just a 3-minute walk from Misumi Station, this stylish cafe opened in 2023 and has quickly become a hidden gem for both locals and international visitors.

If you’re driving, there are 2 tandem parking spaces in front of the shop and 2 more on the gravel lot beside it. The nearby Misumi Port Green Park parking is also available for guests (^^).

[Tenjo Tetsudo] is a long, narrow space with the magnificent train diorama stretching all the way to the back — it’s seriously impressive (^^). The cafe has 10 seats in total.

I’m not even a huge train fan, but I could honestly watch this diorama forever! And once you start looking closely…

Oh dear — there’s even an emergency scene with a tiny ambulance! 😄

And look — a house under construction! Such adorable little details everywhere.

The closer you look, the more delightful surprises you’ll discover ٩( ᐛ )و

One of the trains running on the day I visited was the famous “A-Train” (A Ressha de Ikō) — and the day before, an SL steam locomotive was on the tracks! A different train runs every day, so it’s always a fresh surprise.

Fun fact: if you bring your own model train, you can run it on the diorama for 800 yen per hour. Just ask the staff!

Oh, and there’s a Totoro hidden somewhere in the diorama — see if you can find it ( ´ ▽ ` )

Recommended Menu at Tenjo Tetsudo

Here’s the menu. You order at the register first, and takeout is also available.

Currently the owner’s wife is on a break, so the only desserts available on this visit were the Basque cheesecake and matcha Basque cheesecake.

I ordered the Cafe Latte — 500 yen.

Basque Cheesecake — 500 yen

Cola — 350 yen

The handmade Basque cheesecake is absolutely delicious ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

The matcha Basque cheesecake also looked amazing (*´ω`*)

According to the owner, there are plans to build a second tier on top of the current diorama — so this miniature world keeps growing and evolving!

Train enthusiasts from across Japan and even from overseas come to visit, so you’ll be in great company (^^).

Reservations are recommended for groups of 3 or more. The cafe occasionally closes for maintenance, so be sure to check their Instagram before heading out ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

See you next time! ٩( ᐛ )و
