Welcome to kumamoto milk
Hello, fellow travelers!
This is Binako, a writer for SaruKuma, currently mourning the mysterious destruction of my living room table by my son.
Today I’m thrilled to introduce you to a charming new spot located in Miyoshi, Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“kumamoto milk” — a soft serve ice cream specialty shop that’s perfect for any visitor exploring the Kumamoto countryside.

This soft serve specialty shop just celebrated its grand opening on May 8th!
The sleek black-and-white storefront is beautifully accented by a colorful display of fresh flowers out front, making it incredibly Instagram-worthy.
And that logo? Effortlessly chic and gorgeous. It’s giving exactly the kind of refined elegance I aspire to.
Finding the shop is easy — just look for the soft serve ice cream sign along the road!

If you’re driving (which is the easiest way to reach Koshi City from Kumamoto City), there’s plenty of parking right in front of the shop.
The lot is spacious and very easy to maneuver — perfect for tourists with rental cars!
The colorful road sign in front of the shop is adorably photogenic.
It’s a great spot for snapping a memorable photo of your soft serve cone!
While I avoided photographing it out of respect for other customers, there are two outdoor tables in front of the shop where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream right after purchasing — a perfect way to relax and savor the moment under the Kumamoto sky!
kumamoto milk’s Must-Try Menu Items

Here’s a look at the menu.
What makes “kumamoto milk” so special?
・Hand-baked waffle cones
・An exclusive rich-yet-refreshing milk soft serve you can only taste here
・Handmade pudding and coffee jelly
・Carefully selected, premium ingredients
With this much love and attention poured into every cone, how could anyone resist?!
Don’t miss the limited-edition Strawberry Parfait (1,000 yen)!
Made with hand-selected strawberries and homemade strawberry mousse, this is an original parfait you can only experience at kumamoto milk.
This time, I went with the Bittersweet Coffee Jelly Parfait (700 yen)!
Every option looked tempting, but the word “handmade” won me over.
The pudding parfait is definitely on my list for next time…
And what’s that mysterious item poking out from the top?
It’s a secret flavor booster that takes the whole experience to another level.
(I’ll reveal it shortly…)
And here it is — the original milk soft serve!
The sweetness is wonderfully light and refreshing, but the deep, creamy richness of the milk lingers beautifully on the palate.
It never feels heavy or cloying, so you could happily keep eating forever!
Now feast your eyes on the handmade waffle cone!
The word “handmade” always makes my heart skip a beat.
The waffle cone is wonderfully crisp and substantial — a true treat in its own right!
And the secret flavor booster? It’s honey!
Drizzling honey over the soft serve adds a delicate sweetness and extra richness.
Because honey has such a clean, natural sweetness, it pairs beautifully with the creamy soft serve.
Hidden at the bottom of the parfait, you’ll discover generous chunks of homemade coffee jelly.
Because it’s made in-house, the parfait is packed with luxuriously large pieces of jelly.
The slightly firm texture and bittersweet coffee flavor are a perfect counterpoint to the light, sweet soft serve.
Add a touch of honey and you get an explosion of bitter, sweet, rich, deep, and creamy notes all at once…
There’s so much deliciousness happening that your taste buds can hardly keep up!
Simply put — it’s absolutely delicious! I want everyone to try it!
