Welcome to Saint-Germain
Hello there!
It’s Binako,
your Sarukuma writer who recently picked up a new book!
Today I’m excited to introduce a charming spot located in
Kitamiya, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture β
“Saint-Germain”.

I’ve been curious about this place every time I drove through Kikuchi, and I finally made it inside!

Parking is right out front.
During lunchtime, the lot often fills up β a sure sign the locals love this place!

Inside, you’ll find cozy sofa seating.

There are also regular table seats.

Toward the back, there’s even a private tatami room β perfect for larger groups looking for that traditional Japanese dining experience.

Traveling with little ones? No worries β they have baby chairs available too.
Saint-Germain’s Recommended Menu

The lunch specials are a fantastic deal (note: not available on Sundays and public holidays).
Am I the only one drawn to that kimchi rice bowl?

Saint-Germain’s homemade beef stew.
I’m a total sucker for the word “homemade”… oh my!

What I really want to say is β
the menu is enormous!

And every dish is wallet-friendly β what a treat.
It’s no wonder the locals keep coming back!

There’s even a Ladies’ Set on offer.
The portions are seriously generous β pure indulgence!

The staff also kindly brought out small sharing plates for the kids.

This time I went for the Chicken Ginger Stir-Fry Set Meal (770 yen).

The ginger flavor is wonderfully bold β absolutely delicious!
Using chicken instead of pork keeps it light and easy to enjoy, which is a real plus.

And the miso soup? So good I’d recommend it with all my heart.

And here’s the White Fish Fry Set Meal (680 yen).
Can you believe this much food for just 680 yen?

Crispy, fresh-from-the-fryer batter wrapped around tender, fluffy white fish.
A truly heartwarming taste of home-style Japanese cooking.

Each table is stocked with a variety of seasonings,
so you can customize the flavors exactly to your liking.

Generous portions, reasonable prices, and genuinely delicious food.
Saint-Germain offers unbeatable value at a warm, welcoming restaurant.
