Today I’m excited to introduce a gem located in Rissoji, Tamana City:
HAPPINESS BURGER.

This brand-new spot just opened its doors on August 24th (●＾o＾●)
Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s just another burger joint!
Even though I dropped by unannounced, the friendly staff shared so much wonderful information with me, which I’m thrilled to pass along to you (^^)/
The shop is conveniently located in central Tamana City, making it easy to find even for first-time visitors!
Nearby, you’ll find lots of fun spots we’ve previously featured on SaruKuma — including Jagatani Park (home to a long roller slide), Tamana Onsen Tsukasa-no-Yu hot spring, Tsukasa Bowl Tamana, and Kouso Genmai-to. From restaurants and parks to hot springs, there’s so much to enjoy in the area♪

There are 6 parking spaces available.
The shop’s parking spots are clearly marked with the HAPPINESS BURGER sign, so they’re easy to spot. However, one space is shared with the apartment building above, so please check the signage carefully when parking (>_<)The interior is bright and welcoming, with a clean white aesthetic.
The owners took inspiration from a young staff member’s suggestion to give it a Korean-style vibe♪
Since customers were dining when I visited, I couldn’t snap photos, but there are also table seats and a children’s high chair on the left side of the shop.

Each order is freshly made, so there will be a wait time.
For families, picture books are provided to keep little ones entertained.There’s also a QR code for the trendy MBTI personality test (16 personality types). Why not give it a try while you wait♪

For the record, I got INTJ – the Architect!Here’s something not even on the menu: HAPPINESS BURGER’s patties are made with 100% Japanese Kuroge Wagyu beef!!
From the avocado sauce, chili sauce, and yangnyeom (Korean sweet-spicy) sauce, to the chicken batter — every single component is their own original blend!
Nothing is pre-made! Burgers, chicken, and everything else are cooked to order.
Once you know all this, the prices are simply unbelievable!

★Weekends get especially busy, so we highly recommend calling ahead to place your order!
For walk-in orders, the wait time may exceed 30 minutes depending on the situation.
The buns at HAPPINESS BURGER are baked by Boulangerie Fuku, a bakery also located in Tamana. (We have permission to share the bakery’s name.)
After many test batches, they created six rare colored buns – a true rarity even in Kyushu!
(I didn’t have time to visit the bakery this time, but I’ll definitely make a trip soon!)

You’re probably wondering how they get those colors…
Rest assured, all the colors come from natural ingredient powders (^○^)
Butterfly Pea, Raspberry, Pumpkin, Beetroot, Cocoa, Spinach.
All familiar, wholesome ingredients♪

Most of them are virtually flavorless, though the cocoa one has just a hint of its signature taste♪
Children’s cutlery, knives, forks, burger wrappers, gloves, hand wipes, mustard, and ketchup are all available here – take what you need.
You can enjoy your burger elegantly with knife and fork, or grab a wrapper and gloves for the full hands-on experience!
Eat it however makes you happiest (●＾o＾●)

HAPPINESS BURGER Recommended Menu

Trying to be health-conscious (lol), I went with the Avocado Burger set with the fries-and-onion combo and ginger ale!
…Although there’s clearly a side of yangnyeom chicken in the back too (＾ω＾) (lol)

Since I followed them on Instagram, I got to upgrade to a raspberry bun for free♪
It was a tough call between cocoa and raspberry…
But the avocado’s yellow-green paired with the pink raspberry bun gave me the colors of my favorite character from a certain demon-slaying anime – absolutely adorable!!
The colorful buns are super photogenic – perfect for your Instagram!♫
Generous slices of avocado, plus avocado in the sauce too.
I was so impressed I had to ask, \”This is really 100% Kuroge Wagyu beef, right?\”

It turns out the owners run a separate company, and even own the apartment building where the shop is located.
When the previous tenant moved out, they thought, \”Let’s start something new!\” – and HAPPINESS BURGER was born.
Because they don’t pay rent for the space, they can use premium ingredients and still keep prices this affordable.
They also hire family members of their other employees, creating a warm, family-oriented business.
Now, time to dig in – hands-on style with the burger wrapper and gloves!
You know how it is with these tall burgers – your jaw practically dislocates trying to take a bite.

The bun is lightly toasted with a soft hint of butter aroma.
The patty is meaty and substantial, but never heavy!
The avocado was perfectly ripe, and the whole thing was absolutely delicious (●＾o＾●)
Look at that glossy sheen – my appetite is going wild!
It looks so authentically Korean!
With my gloves on, I went straight in for the bite.
HAPPINESS BURGER’s original yangnyeom sauce has a slight kick of spice.
Adults will love it, but kids might prefer the regular fried chicken (*^^)vAnd after I’d already drunk most of it, I noticed – heart-shaped ice cubes!

Photogenic looks, fantastic flavor, and 100% Kuroge Wagyu patties at unbeatable prices!
It’s already buzzing with customers, and is sure to become an even bigger hit!
