Introducing Yakiniku Koan

Hello there!
This is Maru, your Sarukuma writer 🙂🙃

Today I’m taking you to Obiyama in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, to visit
“Yakiniku Koan”.

This place has built up an amazing reputation for its delicious charcoal-grilled Japanese black wagyu beef 😍✨

You’ll find it right near Yume Mart Obiyama.

Here’s the full view of the restaurant!
There’s also an entrance on the right side, and the inside is much more spacious and beautifully kept than you might expect

There’s parking for about 6 cars behind the restaurant.

Today I’m featuring their takeout options!!!

Right outside the shop, there’s a takeout corner for their famous gyoza dumplings (っ’-‘)╮ =͟͟͞͞🥟🥟🥟
(↑Wait, are they tossing dumplings?)

You can choose between freshly grilled gyoza or frozen gyoza!

For those who want to enjoy delicious yakiniku at home 😋,
there’s also a takeout home-feast set for 7,000 yen.

Why not treat yourself to a luxurious yakiniku night in? 🐮🌱

Recommended Menu at Yakiniku Koan

This time, I picked up the takeout gyoza, 10 pieces for 590 yen (tax included).

When I transferred the freshly fried gyoza from the pan onto a plate,
they had absolutely gorgeous crispy lacy wings (hane-tsuki gyoza)~ 😍

Wings so beautiful, the dumplings looked ready to fly away ʚ❤︎ɞ

Sadly, I missed snapping a photo of that moment (^^;;

The outside is super crispy!!!

The dipping sauce comes included, which is so handy!

Just a little dip, and…

Crunchy and juicy!!!
The texture is so satisfying, packed with vegetables — these are wonderfully healthy gyoza 😋

No wonder you’d want to pair them with yakiniku!
They’re so tasty and light that they disappear in a flash ✨

Be sure to try the delicious gyoza handmade by the yakiniku master himself~ (っ’-‘)╮ =͟͟͞͞🥟(←But please don’t actually throw your gyoza, lol)
