Introducing Sugimizu Park

Hello, travelers!
This is Asukaland, your Sarukuma writer.

Today we’re heading to
Sugimizu, Ozu Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture
to explore “Sugimizu Park”.

Sugimizu Park sits right alongside a major road, making it easy to spot \(^o^)/

Here’s the parking lot (^-^)

Restrooms are located right next to the parking lot.

You’ll also find vending machines nearby — handy for grabbing a cold drink (^-^)

A gentle ramp leads from the entrance into the park (^o^)/

Hand-washing stations are sprinkled throughout each play area.
We counted at least six of them around the park (^-^)v

There’s another restroom toward the back of the park,
but the one beside the parking lot feels more spacious and clean (^^)

A covered rest area sits at the far side of the park — perfect for taking a break (^o^)/

In the center of the park, you’ll find a wisteria trellis with benches underneath —
a lovely shaded spot to relax and take it slow o(^-^o)(o^-^)o

Plenty of benches are scattered through every play area (*^^*)

What Makes Sugimizu Park Special

First up,
this awesome play structure!!!

It’s shaped like a little mountain you can climb, and there are slides too (*^^*)

And then…

there’s a tunnel inside the mountain!!!

I peeked in, but couldn’t see the other end!

There are four tunnel entrances, and they seem to meet up in the middle \(^o^)/

It might take a little courage for younger kids the first time (^з^)-☆
but once they get the hang of it, they’ll be running in and out over and over (*^^*)

The play areas are divided into sections, and a smaller slide sits in the area next door (^^)

Sugimizu Park is
bursting with nature!!

You may want to bring some bug spray in summer,
but for kids who love hunting for insects, this park is a dream come true (*^^*)

We spotted butterflies and grasshoppers, and the azaleas were blooming. The whole place feels a bit like a maze (^o^)/

There are also wide-open spaces without any equipment, perfect for ball games and other outdoor fun (^o^)/

The park is so spacious with so many hiding spots that it would even make a great place for a game of hide-and-seek \(^o^)/
