Introducing Yakiniku Shokudo Kutamiya

Hello, this is Suno, a writer for [Sarukuma].

Today we’re heading to Usuba in Minami-ku, Kumamoto City to check out
[Yakiniku Shokudo Kutamiya].As you drive from AEON Town Nishi-Kumamoto toward the Shinko area, this eye-catching sign will appear on your right — you can’t miss it!There’s a spacious parking lot, so it’s easy to pull right in.

On the same property, you’ll also find the sister restaurant “Sumibiyaki Niku Kutamiya” (charcoal-grilled yakiniku).
Inside, there are four traditional tatami (zashiki) rooms that seat up to six people each — perfect if you’re dining with kids! ♪
There are also partitioned counter seats and table seats for solo diners and couples.
The very first thing that caught my eye on the menu —

Self-serve all-you-can-drink lemon sour & highball, 60 minutes for ¥800!
This deal is available from 5:00 PM onward.
Along with our water, they served us kakuteki (cubed daikon kimchi) and tsubo-zuke kimchi — and yes, refills are unlimited!

Honestly, these alone make rice disappear in seconds.Kutamiya Usuba is ranked 10th on the “Most Popular Yakiniku Restaurants in Kumamoto” list!

And the previously featured “Yakiniku Horumon Kutamiya Kuwamizu” proudly took the No. 1 spot!

One of the secrets behind their popularity? The signature house-made dipping sauce shown next to the meat.

You can choose from three original Kutamiya sauces: soy-based, miso-based, or spicy!

Even better, the rice is freshly milled from brown rice on-site and served all-you-can-eat!

I was honestly surprised to spot a real rice-polishing machine right at the entrance!

Recommended Menu Items at Yakiniku Shokudo Kutamiya

There are so many options that it’s hard to choose!

The shop’s two famous specialties are salt-seasoned beef tongue and salt-seasoned horumon (offal). I went with this set so I could try the salt tongue too!
The popular Tongue, Kalbi & Harami Set Meal — ¥1,628 (tax included)

Of course the three meats are amazing, but the soup that comes with it was also seriously delicious! ♪There’s nothing like grilling beef harami, salt tongue, and beef kalbi at lunchtime — pure happiness!

You can also add Kalbi Noodles to any set meal for just ¥190 extra.Another favorite — the Kalbi Don (rice bowl) — ¥638 (tax included)

Rice bowls are so easy to share with little ones, and you don’t see them often at yakiniku restaurants — what a treat!Large rice portions are free, so we decided to share.

The kalbi pairs perfectly with the sauce, and the portion is generous!
You can even upgrade to Extra Large Meat Â¥968 if you’re really hungry!
Even my daughter, who’s usually picky about meat, gobbled it up — she finished the meat first, before anything else! They have kid-sized dishes and scissors available, and they thoughtfully gave us a cup with a straw too. So helpful!
Just before heading to the register, fully satisfied, I noticed this little sign on the wall.

Post a Google review on the spot, and you’ll get a free vanilla ice cream! ♪Be sure to stop by Yakiniku Shokudo Kutamiya for a delicious yakiniku lunch — and don’t forget to grab that free dessert! ♪
