About the Cafe
Hello, fellow travelers!
I’m Binako, a writer for Sarukuma,
and today I’m extra excited because tomorrow is yakiniku night!
Let me introduce a wonderful spot located in
Sakaemachi, Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“ORCHID CAFE”.
This charming cafe is located on the first floor of a hotel,
and the great news is that it’s open to non-hotel guests too! ♪

The parking lot is right in front of the cafe,
so it’s easy to spot and convenient for drivers ♪

The interior is spacious and welcoming, with plenty of room for families,
making it a perfect lunch stop during your Amakusa road trip ^^

Ordering is done via a meal ticket system (a common Japanese cafe experience),
so you can take your time choosing without feeling rushed!
For early birds, there’s a
Breakfast Set for 800 yen,
perfect for a leisurely Japanese-style morning.

There’s also a menu near the register with photos of every dish,
which is super helpful if you’re not familiar with Japanese cafe items ^^

One menu highlight is the
Cake Set for 720 yen,
which lets you choose any cake from the display showcase at the counter.
It’s a delightful little treat hunters will love (*´Д`)

The restroom even has a diaper-changing station,
so families with babies can visit with peace of mind!
Recommended Menu Items
First up, I tried the
Mixed Sandwich Set for just 350 yen!
Two sandwiches plus a dessert for only 350 yen
is an unbelievable bargain — I want to thank them for the kind pricing!
What’s even better, the two sandwiches come in different flavors,
so you get variety, deliciousness, and incredible value all in one.
Next, I had the
Cake Set for 720 yen!

So beautifully presented!
The cake I chose was a matcha green tea cheesecake.

The moist texture of the cheesecake
blends beautifully with the rich cheese, finished by a wonderful matcha aroma —
absolutely delicious.
The sweetness is perfectly balanced, and the matcha fragrance keeps it light,
making it easy to enjoy every bite.
For 720 yen, this is truly a treat to be grateful for!
Affordable, delicious, and welcoming —
if you’re traveling through Amakusa, please give ORCHID CAFE a try!
