【Jinryu Ramen, Tsukemen & Abura Soba】, located in Shimonanbu, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City.

You’ll find the shop along the East Bypass, near the Peaceful Yuyu hot spring facility and Ajisen Ramen!

Just one look at this bold, powerful sign and you can tell this place means serious business!

Talk about perfect timing — we were absolutely starving when we spotted it (≧▽≦)

There’s parking right next to the shop with space for about 8 cars — super convenient!

Order your meal at the ticket vending machine — a classic Japanese ramen shop experience!

Inside, the shop’s three signature dishes are proudly displayed on the wall (=ﾟωﾟ)ﾉ

Oh man… choosing just one is going to be tough!

The shop has both counter seating and

table seats — perfect for groups or solo diners!

The bold red and white seats really get the appetite going ☆

Heads up: Because the noodles are extra-thick, please allow about 10 minutes for cooking.

The descriptions for the three signature dishes are posted on the wall! Yes, those are seriously thick noodles!

This time, I went with the Abura Soba (Small) — ¥700.

First of all, the sheer amount of bean sprouts blew me away (=ﾟωﾟ)ﾉ
I mixed the extra-thick noodles together with the secret sauce and a soft egg, and…
Wow — seriously delicious! (/・ω・)/

The noodles have such a satisfying chewiness thanks to their bold thickness!

And the savory umami flavor keeps you reaching for the next bite!

The chashu pork is thick and melt-in-your-mouth tender too — pure heaven ☆☆☆

And here’s the Ramen — ¥850!

The rich tonkotsu (pork bone) soy sauce broth clings beautifully to the thick noodles —
seriously hearty and satisfying!

That punch of garlic adds the perfect kick (*^▽^*)

My husband, who ordered the ramen,
wasn’t even a little bit hungry by 7 PM that night!
