About the Shop
Hello, fellow travelers!
This is Binako, your Sarukuma writer reporting in.
Have you ever had one of those moments when, out of nowhere, you suddenly think:
“I really want a parfait right now!”
“I’m in a parfait kind of mood!”
If so, you’ll love this place! Today I’m introducing
“PARFAIT NA KIBUN” (which literally means “Parfait Mood”),
located in Hanabatacho, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City.

You’ll find it right next door to GIARDINO, an Italian restaurant we previously featured.
↑The campaign mentioned has ended, but it’s still a wonderful restaurant worth visiting!

The first thing that catches your eye is this stunning, almost magical display of
fresh fruit galore.
Is this fruit paradise?
Head toward the back right and you’ll find the entrance door — that’s how you get in.
Inside, the seating is counter-style only.
The chic, glass-walled interior had me feeling a little starstruck (in a good way)!
Recommended Menu

Here’s the menu to choose from!
Everything looks so good, you’ll be tempted to say
“I’ll take one of each!”
This time, I went with the seasonal star:
Strawberry Parfait — 750 yen
Notice the hole in the table?
Wait a minute… could it be…?
They slot the bottom of the parfait glass right into it!
Genius!
So clever! And so stylish!
You can admire these magnificent strawberries
right at eye level!
These big, vibrantly red Japanese strawberries —
so luxurious, my heart will remember this forever!
Each strawberry is incredibly juicy and bursting with flavor.
And the soft serve ice cream is rich, satisfying, and absolutely delicious.
It’s dusted with raspberry powder and topped with coconut flakes,
so you also get that delightful crunch from the coconut.
Hidden underneath, you’ll discover toasty, fragrant cornflakes that are absolutely divine.
You get strawberries all the way down to the last bite.
The melting soft serve mingles with the cornflakes and strawberries beautifully —
so, so good!

Parfaits are also available for takeout, so if you’re short on time to dine in, no worries — you can grab one to go!

Here’s a fun bonus: by night, the shop transforms into a bar called “Miiha” (実波),
where you can enjoy fresh fruit cocktails.
Definitely worth visiting both day and night!
Be sure to add this hidden gem to your Kumamoto itinerary!
