Spending all day outside really drains your energy, doesn’t it?
This is Binako, a writer for Sarukuma!

Today I’d like to introduce a lovely little bakery located in
Kuhonji, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“boulangerie 1pain”.

Inside, you’ll find rows of beautifully arranged breads, each one carefully displayed.

Quick heads-up: there’s no parking lot on-site, so you’ll need to use one of the nearby coin-operated parking lots before visiting. ^^

Look at this striking black coppe-pan (Japanese-style hot dog bun)!

CoPPe — 250 yen
Flavors: Very Berry Cream Cheese, and Organic Soy Milk Pistachio

The mysterious black color is actually cocoa!
You just know it has to pair perfectly with sweet bread fillings.

They also offer hard-crusted breads:
Epice — 190 yen
Today’s Special: Gorgonzola — 280 yen

And much more!
I always get drawn in by those “today only” specials~~

ogura (sweet red bean) — 200 yen
ganache — 200 yen
pain o meron (melon bread) — 220 yen

Every bread here is made with additive-free and organic ingredients,
so you can feel safe sharing them with your kids. ^^

There’s even shokupan (Japanese milk bread loaves) available — about three varieties to choose from. Perfect for breakfast, and honestly, I want to stock up!

A hearty bread made with a whole banana —
choco banana — 210 yen

And there are even half-priced breads available — a delightful surprise! ( *´艸｀)

One more thing — to the left of the entrance, there’s a corner with cute miscellaneous goods (zakka), so you can take your time browsing.

This time, I tried the
pain o meron — 220 yen!

Made with coconut oil and coconut sugar,
this is gentleness on top of gentleness — an instant must-buy!

The fluffy sweetness is so naturally rich and
seriously delicious.
This is the kind of melon bread you could eat one after another.

It’s also wonderfully filling — a real bonus!

Next, I tried the
ogura — 200 yen!

The secret is the low-sugar sweet red bean paste!

The not-too-sweet anko (red bean paste) pairs incredibly well with cream cheese —
it’s the ultimate combo, hands down!

Plus, it’s generously topped with egoma (perilla seeds),
which adds a delightful crunchy texture as a perfect accent —
I finished it in no time at all!

It was a truly delicious experience — fun to eat, gentle on the body, and completely satisfying.
