Today we’re introducing [Raamen Kakinoki Kumamoto Branch] in Kotou, Higashi Ward!

Located right off the East Bypass, with a CoCo Ichibanya curry restaurant across the street and a spacious parking lot — easy to find and easy to park!
Inside, you’ll find counter seats, table seats, and traditional sunken kotatsu-style seats (horigotatsu) — perfect whether you’re flying solo or dining with the whole family. Settle in and savor every bite of ramen…Children’s tableware and chairs are available — guests can freely choose what they need.A small but lovely touch: free hair ties! Super handy when you forgot to tie back your hair — or your child’s.

Along with cold water, you’re served complimentary daikon radish pickles — a traditional touch of hospitality typical of Kagoshima-style ramen shops.

Here’s a peek at the menu. Today we ordered:
Kakinoki Spicy Miso Ramen (Extra Hot) — ¥840Kagoshima Soy Sauce Tonkotsu Ramen (Regular) — ¥700

And my personal recommendation — the absolutely amazing fried rice (chahan)!
During lunchtime, you can add a “half chahan” (fried rice) for just ¥220 extra.
Lunchtime runs from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM — a generous window that lets you enjoy this great deal whether you’re an early or late luncher!
While the chashu pork rice and ume-shirasu (plum and whitebait) rice are also delicious, I’m a die-hard chahan fan.
Those perfectly separated, savory grains are seriously addictive.
And the ramen, generously topped with bean sprouts, tastes lighter than it looks — before you know it, you’ve finished the whole bowl!

Ahhh — soooo good!!

There’s one more thing I love about Raamen Kakinoki:
The staff’s hospitality is just wonderful! Always smiling, always energetic, and even when it’s busy, they take the time to make eye contact and serve every customer with care. That warm, attentive service is one of Raamen Kakinoki’s biggest charms!

Takeout is also available — definitely give it a try!
