Today I’m introducing
Kakuzu-machi, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City‘s very own
“CAFE lx (Cafe Lux)” — a stylish cafe perfect for a Kumamoto coffee break.

The famous Seikoen bonsai garden shares the same property,
and because the cafe sits right along the Hamasen Bypass, it’s super easy to find.

There’s a spacious parking lot — a real plus if you’re driving through Kumamoto.

A sleek, all-glass facade in moody black sets the tone the moment you arrive ♪

Once you step inside, head to the right — that’s CAFE lx (Cafe Lux).
The entrance has soaring high ceilings and a wonderfully airy feel!

There are two terrace areas — one beside the parking lot,

and another stylish terrace tucked at the back of the cafe!

Cozy sofa seating,

plus regular table seating!
We arrived right after opening,
and within minutes the place was buzzing with families, friends, and couples ♪

There’s also a chic counter,

and this is where you’ll place your order!
Orders are only taken at the counter,
and payment is made up front before your meal.

Everything is fully self-service here,
and free water is available at the counter.

Children’s chairs are available too — great news for families!

When you’re done eating, just bring your tray to the return station.

They also sell coffee beans and original mugs — perfect for a Kumamoto souvenir!

Drinks, crepes, and pizzas are all available for takeout!

The menu features fluffy soufflé-style pancakes, pasta, and more.

Order pasta during lunch hours (11:00 AM–3:00 PM) and you can choose one free drink from:
hot coffee, iced coffee, oolong tea,
apple juice, orange juice, or grapefruit juice — a great deal! ♬

There’s also an exclusive Hamasen branch menu,

a pizza food menu,

and a generous drink menu — there’s truly something for everyone (*^^*)

This time, I went with a popular pick among female diners:
the Three-Mushroom Pasta (1,080 yen).

The noodles are deliciously chewy, the dish is loaded with mushrooms, and it has serious volume.
The Japanese-style sauce is light and refreshing — easy to finish in no time! ♬

The pancakes here are unbelievably fluffy.
One bite and it’s FLUFFY! MELTY! FIZZY!

They’re so light they practically dissolve on your tongue —
you could honestly polish off several without breaking a sweat (*^^*)
