Ishikawa, Ueki-machi, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City:
“Berry’s Kitchen Shop” — a delightful little stop you won’t want to miss.

Tucked inside a beautifully preserved traditional Japanese house (kominka), Berry’s Kitchen Shop opened on March 31st and offers a curated selection of additive-free sweets, organic foods, kitchenware, and handmade goods. (*^^*)

Hand sanitizer is set up at the entrance for a worry-free visit! (^-^)

Just like in a traditional Japanese home, you’ll slip off your shoes at the entrance and step into cozy slippers.

Being a kominka, the space genuinely feels like visiting a friend’s countryside home — warm, calming, and full of nostalgic charm. (^-^)

Step inside and you’re immediately greeted by an array of adorable handmade goods! (^з^)-☆

You’ll find lovely handmade items, plus charming gift sets — perfect for baby showers — featuring diapers, dolls, gauze cloths, and more. (*^^*)

The shop owner mentioned she sometimes uses these in her own homemade sweets. Carbonated drinks are also available for 181 yen!

Donburi noodles (sansai soba with mountain vegetables, and natto soba with fermented soybeans) — instant noodles you simply prepare by pouring hot water into the bowl!

And yet — they’re 100% additive-free, making them safe and reassuring for kids and even expectant mothers! (^o^)/

Here are the goodies I picked up during my visit!

Donburi instant noodles
Natto soba, sansai soba, kitsune udon — 226 yen each
Kinako Nejiri (roasted soybean flour twists) — 290 yen
Sweet potato chips — 273 yen

I tried to snap a photo, but little hands had already reached in… caught in the act! (^^;

Naturally sweet, satisfyingly crunchy — “Once you start, you simply can’t stop!”

Kids never lie about flavor — mine kept asking for more and more! (^з^)-☆
