Welcome to 3310 (Misato) Cafe

Hello, fellow travelers!
This is Uentsu, a writer for Saru Kuma.

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a charming new spot tucked away in Misato Town, Shimomashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture
“3310 (Misato) Cafe”.
This brand-new smoothie specialty shop opened on July 22nd on the grounds of “Misato Bussankan Yonnasse” (the building on the left side of the photo).
I was lucky enough to be invited to the pre-opening!

Don’t you love the hand-painted lettering by a local artist? So stylish!
At 3310 Cafe, you can enjoy “edible smoothies” crafted by a certified Vegetable Sommelier using fresh fruits and vegetables.
The fruits are sourced all the way from Ishigaki Island — apparently, the sweetness of Ishigaki fruit is on a whole different level!
The interior is warm and welcoming, with plenty of natural wood. Take a closer look at the chairs — they’re actually labeled with names of local schools (a fun, quirky detail!).
That gorgeous blue drink in the stylish dispenser? It’s butterfly pea tea — currently in development, so it may not be on the official menu yet. Keep an eye out!

Must-Try Menu Items at 3310 (Misato) Cafe

Now, let me walk you through the menu highlights!
Here are the takeout versions. On the left is “Berry & Berry,” and on the right is “Beni Beni Imo” (purple sweet potato).
As you’d guess from the name, the “Beni Imo” smoothie is made with Japanese purple sweet potato.
The natural sweetness is just right — and the toppings are hand-picked by the sommelier herself. Takeout smoothies are 650 yen each.

And here’s the dine-in version. When you eat in, your smoothie comes served in a beautiful glass — and it includes a slice of cheesecake on the side!
The cheesecakes are sourced from “CHEESE CAKE STAND,” a renowned shop in Ogawa Town.
Which flavor will you get? It’s a delightful surprise that changes daily!
This is the same “Berry & Berry” smoothie shown earlier as takeout. The dine-in version is topped with wholesome oatmeal.
It truly lives up to the cafe’s motto: “Eat deliciously, become beautiful.”
Dine-in smoothies are 850 yen each.

Other smoothie flavors include “Pineapple,” “Banana de Banana,” and “Strawberry & Berry,” with seasonal specials in the works. They also offer 100% pure juices imported from Ishigaki Island — including Pineapple, Shikuwasa (Okinawan citrus), Mango, and Tankan — with 6 varieties total at 500 yen each.

And here’s the cherry on top: during summer, they’ll also be serving kakigori (Japanese shaved ice) with three syrups available unlimited refills!
(The price wasn’t finalized at the time of our visit, so be sure to check in-store.)

Since this was a pre-opening, the menu wasn’t quite finalized yet — so be sure to swing by and check out the latest offerings in person!
