Today I’m introducing a fun spot located in Kurokami, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Wongsha Chicken & Kimbap Heaven Kurokami”.

My family was craving authentic Korean kimbap, so we decided to check this place out. It just opened its first Kumamoto location this March!

The bright pink, eye-catching exterior really pops against the night sky — you can’t miss it!

I missed snapping a photo of the parking lot, but there are 4 parking spaces available near the shop.

The wall is covered in colorful flowers — so pop and cute! 💖 What looks like a vending machine in the foreground is actually a clever illustrated door!

The interior is cozy but has a small dine-in space.
You can also enjoy Korean alcohol and drinks here.

The pop aesthetic continues inside — it really lifts your mood! 🥰

Ordering is done via touchscreen panel. Besides dine-in, you can also do takeout and delivery.

This time we went with takeout and called in our order ahead.

The Wongsha chicken and kimbap menu offers 8 chicken varieties and 6 kimbap options to choose from.

Takeout orders come in stylish boxes.
They’d make a wonderful gift to bring to friends!

We ordered the Wongsha Chicken Premium Half & Half BOX for 1,933 yen (tax included).

That’s 600 grams of chicken total — seriously generous portions!
Each side also comes with a few fried tteokbokki rice cakes.

This is the Original Bulgogi Soy Sauce flavor.
The sauce comes on the side, so kids who don’t like spicy food can enjoy the chicken plain too.

The sauce has just the right kick — sweet, savory, and totally addictive. Pour it on generously for the best flavor!

And here’s the Golden Snow Cheese flavor.

Coated generously with cheese powder, it’s rich and absolutely delicious! (^^)
The fried tteokbokki rice cakes pair wonderfully with it too.

And here’s the kimbap! Each roll is satisfyingly hefty.

Special Original Kimbap — 810 yen.

Filled with sausage, imitation crab, takuan (pickled radish), and namul vegetables, it has a homey flavor that kids will love.
The sesame oil gives it that authentic Korean touch.

And this one is the popular Witch’s Beef Galbi & Cheese Kimbap — 918 yen.

The combination of galbi beef, melty cheese, and slightly spicy rice is unbeatable.
It was so good we devoured it in no time! 😋

Next time, I want to try the classic Yangnyeom Chicken too…
