A Look Back at May

On May 21st, we hosted Kasumiso Hiroba, the parent-child community gathering born from SaruKuma!

By popular demand from last year — with so many families asking us to bring it back — we welcomed Mii-sensei once again for her wonderful “Music Care” session!
Music Care is a wonderful form of music therapy that everyone — from babies to centenarians, with or without disabilities — can enjoy together by moving their bodies to music. ♩
Mii-sensei has an incredible repertoire and adapts the songs on the spot to suit the mood of the room — it’s truly impressive!
We started with gentle body-touch activities with the children, then moved on to bells and drums in time with the music, and finished off with a colorful balloon play. Both the kids and the moms had huge smiles on their faces, and it warmed our hearts to see!
Mii-sensei is currently based at “Kagayaki-kan Tsudoi no Hiroba” in Ueki-machi, where she hosts Music Care sessions and a variety of other events. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out!

Our friends from Yusui Nursery School Toyooka, who join us every month with toys and a height/weight scale, also brought along plenty of musical toys this time — tambourines, castanets, and more — and the children were absolutely fascinated! ♩

How to Sign Up for the Next Event

Our next event will be held on Wednesday, June 18th.
Starting this fiscal year, Kasumiso Hiroba has moved to the third Wednesday of each month so it doesn’t overlap with other children’s center events in Koshi City!
(Dates may shift depending on the instructor’s schedule or holidays.)

Same-day cancellations and coming or going partway through are absolutely fine!
Parking: Free
Restrooms: Western-style toilets, no baby guards, but a diaper-changing station is available in the multipurpose room
Breastfeeding is welcome too!
If you need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask our staff.

Whether you live in Koshi City or not, whether you have a baby or older children, everyone is welcome!
It’s totally fine if your child cries, runs around, you arrive late, or need to leave early!
Kids will be kids — no worries at all!

While we do use an advance reservation system, we’ve recently had many people on the waitlist, so if your plans change, please send us a DM via this account to let us know.

Each month, the principal of Yusui Nursery School Toyooka joins us at the event.
She lends us tools and toys for our activities and even brings the height/weight scale.
She’s happy to answer questions about choosing a nursery school, and even shares insights for those curious about what it’s really like to work at a daycare.
During the event, you’ll often spot a baby happily settled on her lap. (lol)
She’s incredibly friendly and approachable, so please feel free to chat with her! (^^)
