Introducing Buddica DONUTS

Today I’m excited to introduce Buddica DONUTS, a brand-new donut spot in Ueki-machi, Kita-ku, Kumamoto City.

Buddica DONUTS is a fun collaboration between H donuts (the popular donut shop in Mashiki) and Buddica, a car sales company — and it officially opens in Ueki-machi on November 22, 2025! I couldn’t wait, so I sneaked in for a preview visit and I’m bringing you all the hot details first (*^.^*)

H donuts (Kamimashiki-gun, Mashiki-machi): A 30-second shelf life?! Melt-in-your-mouth texture you’ve never experienced — a new spot energizing Mashiki with donuts!

The first thing that catches your eye is the adorable American-style sign featuring a bird and a donut — the unmistakable symbol of Buddica DONUTS!

Located right along Route 3, it’s a brand-new style of donut cafe perfect for combining a drive with a sweet pit stop (^-^)v

In Kumamoto, you really need a car to get just about anywhere — and the team here wants to make those everyday drives feel a little extra special.

There’s a parking lot right next to Buddica DONUTS, so it’s super convenient for visitors arriving by car.

The moment you step inside — pure stylish vibes!

The interior of Buddica DONUTS is sleek, clean, and beautifully refined.

Some areas were still under construction during my visit, but a terrace seating area will be ready by opening day (^^)

Colorful donuts line the counter, looking absolutely irresistible!

My daughter stood on her tiptoes, totally fascinated.

Despite the vibrant colors, no artificial flavors or colorings are used — incredible, right?
That means parents can feel completely at ease letting their kids enjoy them!

And there’s more!
To deliver the freshest flavor possible, the dough is made by hand every day without freezing, and both the dough and the toppings are crafted entirely by a pâtissier — these donuts are seriously next-level when it comes to attention to detail!

Here’s a look at the donut lineup, starting from the front of the case:

Maple Almond — 290 yen

Glazed Orange — 270 yen

Framboise — 270 yen

White Crunch — 310 yen

Pistachio — 320 yen

Strawberry — 260 yen

Buddica Donut — 320 yen

There are also fresh cream-filled donuts (“nama donuts”) packed with luscious cream!

Custard Cream — 390 yen

Pistachio Cream — 410 yen

Strawberry Milk Cream — 410 yen

Chocolate Cream — 410 yen

And it’s not just donuts — the showcase also features cakes and pudding!

New York Cheesecake — 600 yen

Pudding (Purin) — 500 yen

There weren’t other cake varieties on display the day I visited, but it sounds like more are usually available (^^)

【Drink Menu】

Latte (Hot/Iced) — 500 yen

Americano — 450 yen

Salted Caramel Macchiato — 600 yen

Extra Espresso Shot — +150 yen

Oat Milk Substitute — +100 yen

There are also soft drinks available, which is a huge plus for families with kids (^^)

They’ve also got a serious espresso machine!
The coffee beans are roasted in-house at H Coffee in Mashiki (^^)
So you can enjoy properly authentic coffee here too (^-^)v

Buddica DONUTS Recommended Menu

For dine-in, you grab your own plate self-serve style!
I’ve never seen such a fancy gold plate before — just looking at it gets me excited (am I the only one?!).

Of course, the signature Buddica Donut had to be my first pick!

Look at this glittering donut lineup (*^.^*)

The donuts hold their own against that glamorous gold plate — what a presence!

And the heart-shaped latte art? Absolutely adorable (^^)

First up, the Buddica Donut — the one with that intriguing orange topping I’d been eyeing!

A bright citrus aroma drifts up from the orange peel, and the dough has a lovely chocolatey flavor.

The donut feels like it’s filled with air — incredibly light and fluffy!

The orange cornflakes on top add a satisfying crunch that’s just too good!
This combo is something you have to taste to believe — pure perfection (*^.^*)

Wait, hold on!

I just finished one and I can totally go for a second (>.<)y-~

Maybe it’s because they’re aiming to make “the lightest donuts in Japan”?
They look hearty but they’re so airy you’ll polish them off in no time!

The Pistachio donut is absolutely loaded with pistachio toppings, with a plain-style base!
The dough actually uses domestic Japanese kuri kabocha (chestnut pumpkin) — look closely and you’ll spot bits of green pumpkin skin!
It even has a subtle yellow pumpkin tint.

Next up, Maple Almond.
A donut topped with crisp, caramelized almonds (^^)

Fluffy meets crunchy — that contrast is everything, and this one’s a winner too (*^.^*)

White Crunch is apparently a big hit with kids (^^)
What a treat for them to discover something this delicious at a young age (*^.^*)

Soft drinks for kids come in sturdy plastic cups with secure lids — easy and safe for little ones to drink from (^^)

For the cream-filled fresh donuts, I started with the kid-favorite Chocolate Cream!

It’s so fluffy you can barely cut it in half!
But there’s also a hint of chewy moshi-moshi texture hidden inside — that’s the magic of these nama donuts (^^)

The cream is made entirely from scratch, and it’s wonderfully light and not too sweet (^-^)v

Buddica DONUTS isn’t just about donuts!
The cakes are also handmade — so of course we had to try…

The New York Cheesecake (*^.^*)

Even before tasting it, you can tell from the cross-section how silky-smooth it is!
And it really lives up to the look — silky, rich, melt-in-your-mouth, but never heavy.
So yes, you can absolutely enjoy it after a donut or two (>.<)y-~

And it’s not just the food and drinks!
The shop cards come in different designs so you can pick your favorite. Which one would you choose?
