Welcome to L’oiseau Bleu — A French Patisserie Hidden in Tamana

Hello, fellow sweet lovers!
This is Igaguri, your Sarukuma writer.

Today I’m taking you to one of my favorite hidden gems in Kumamoto —
CrĂ©ation PĂątisserie Française L’oiseau Bleu, tucked away in Naka, Tamana City.

I last visited in summer, but today I’m here to share the autumn–winter side of L’oiseau Bleu!

L’oiseau Bleu (Naka, Tamana City): A Peach × Lychee × Passion Fruit Parfait That Made Us Swoon

Santas everywhere — the shop is already in full holiday mode!

That magical season has arrived — fun for kids and grown-ups alike â™Ș

Look at the autumn-themed wrapping with adorable owls — too cute!

This is Kokoro Moyƍ, a delicate pie blended with just the right ratio of Kumamoto-grown rice flour.

Chocolates so beautifully presented they look like little trinkets

And yes — they even make traditional Japanese sweets (wagashi)!

The cakes lined up in the showcase are absolutely dazzling!

Each one is shaped differently — they’re so artistic, you’ll find yourself reading every label asking, “What’s inside this one?”

Among all the French-style names, only one stands out in kanji: Hisui (“Jade”)
A pistachio and white chocolate mousse,
layered with cherry cream and raspberry jelly.

I had this one on my last visit — absolutely divine
!

The award-winning creations are highlighted in red:
PremiĂšre, De l’Ăąme, Auguri.

I want to try them all!

And the cream puffs and pudding? Surely no-fail choices.

Wait — they also have marron pies, croissants, AND canelĂ©s?!

Must-Try Menu Items at L’oiseau Bleu

I spotted the Christmas cake menu!

Spoiled for choice, I had to make a decision

I went with the short-cake-sized version of Christmas cake #05, Auguri â™Ș

Just look at that gorgeous cross-section!

Mascarpone mousse paired with rich pistachio and bright raspberry — an elegant, festive flavor ♡

L’oiseau Bleu’s mousses really are something special.

But of course, foodie Igaguri 🌰 wasn’t going to stop there.

Beyond the slice cakes, I spotted something irresistible in the whole-cake section.

Yundangao (Taiwanese Castella) — 1,100 yen

Baked by an actual Taiwanese pastry chef?! Now I HAVE to try it.

( ïŸŸĐ”ïŸŸ)

Even chilled, it’s incredible — pillowy, cloudlike, and almost melt-in-your-mouth fizzy.

This goes way beyond pancakes

And the marron (chestnut) parfait, after the famous peach parfait — pure heaven

This parfait was even featured on TV — that’s how good it is.
(Note: it is no longer being served, and parfaits are paused during the busy holiday season.)

Birthday cakes and custom orders are of course also available ◎

From Christmas cakes and birthdays to parfaits and Taiwanese castella — L’oiseau Bleu is packed with reasons to visit!

Trust me, it’s well worth the trip, even from far away ☆
