Today, I’m excited to introduce a fresh new spot located in Yoshimachi, Minami Ward, Kumamoto City
VEGE&me Minami-Kumamoto

＼Grand Opening: July 19, 2025／
A chopped salad specialty shop originally from Kagoshima has finally arrived in Kumamoto, packed with fresh vegetables!
Acting as a bridge between farmers and customers, they personally meet producers across Japan to hand-select the very best vegetables.
You can swap or add toppings and choose your favorite dressing — the customization is endless!
They also offer one-handed salad wraps and refreshing smoothies that are perfect for kids too♪
To get there, turn off Route 57 Hamasen Bypass at the Tamukae Elementary School intersection, heading toward Yodare Curry and Super Kid Taijima.
Just past Tamukae Post Office, look for the brown building on the left — that’s VEGE&me!
There are 3 parking spaces (^^)/
Each one is in a different spot, so let me walk you through them.
First up, one space right in front of the shop.
A standard car will stick out into the road, so this spot is best for kei (small) cars.
It’s right next to a busy road, so please be careful when getting in and out.
There’s also one space within the building’s parking lot.
It’s the second spot from the right.
Be sure to park in the spot marked with the VEGE&me sign.
And finally, there’s one spot in the gravel lot behind the shop.
It’s the leftmost space.
There’s a sign on the block here too, so look out for it (^^)
VEGE&me is a takeout-only shop!
There’s a small step at the entrance, but the inside is stroller-friendly♪
The big photo menu makes it easy to browse and pick your favorite!
You can take all the time you need to decide once you arrive (haha).Let me introduce the chopped salad menu at VEGE&me!

All priced at 990 yen!
Currently, all tomatoes are sourced from Kumamoto Prefecture!
The Segodon salad uses 100% Kagoshima Prefecture ingredients♪
Chicken and Avocado are crowd favorites, while Tacos and Segodon have many devoted repeat customers★
Lettuce and seasonal vegetables form the base of every salad, with about 5 toppings layered on each.
Starting from these base salads, you can change or add dressings, add toppings, or swap out ingredients you don’t like! (←How awesome is that!)

Adding extra toppings costs more, but swapping within the same price range is free♪

Here’s how to use the official VEGE&me app.
① Download the app and create a new account.
After completing email verification, registration is done.

② After logging in, set up your My Page.
③ Tap the contact talk option on the home screen, or the talk button at the bottom.

④ A list of stores will appear — tap Kumamoto → VEGE&me Minami-Kumamoto.

⑤ A LINE-style chat screen will open, where you can place your order.
Please include the following in your order:
① Pickup date and time (Month, Day, Time)
② Menu items and quantities
③ Topping/dressing changes or additions
④ Your name
This helps everything go smoothly.

Since orders are checked during business hours, calling is best for same-day orders, while the app is great for orders placed in advance♪

Recommended Menu Items at VEGE&me Minami-Kumamoto

So colorful and exciting even before you take a bite♡
You rarely get to enjoy a salad with this many toppings at home, so it feels like a real treat!

The chopped salads have all ingredients diced into small cubes.
They’re served in deep bowls so they’re easy to mix and easy to eat!
You can devour them with just a spoon♪

As you can see, the toppings are so generous you can hardly see the lettuce underneath!
Each salad is carefully assembled with the philosophy that vegetables can be the main course.

Salad wraps are perfect for when you can’t use both hands — like while driving or in a hurry♪
They kindly cut it for the photo.
The wrap is filled with mixed ingredients, lettuce, and a tortilla wrap holding it all together.
Don’t underestimate it just because it’s a salad.
Even one wrap is filling and totally satisfying (^^)/

The dressing came generously, coating every bit of the vegetables♪
Since it’s served on the side, you can adjust the amount to your liking — a really nice touch.
Maybe I didn’t mix it well enough (haha)
The rich cheddar cheese flavor stands up beautifully to the spicy taco dressing!
Crispy fresh veggies and crunchy tortilla chips add the perfect texture, and every bite gets tastier♡

This was the manager’s recommendation — and now I want to recommend it too!
The Segodon salad uses 100% Kagoshima Prefecture ingredients.

The soy-based dressing made with whole Sakurajima komikan citrus has a wonderfully refreshing aroma!
It pairs perfectly with the soft, sweet roasted sweet potato in a sweet-savory harmony♪
I was unsure how roasted sweet potato, jako (small dried fish), and chicken would all work together, but they balanced beautifully and tasted amazing♡
The wrap is super easy to eat, but with so many fillings, watch out for falling pieces (haha).
Everything blends together nicely, and the wrap is crisp and easy to bite into (*’ω’*).
The King Green Smoothie has natural banana sweetness that makes it easy to drink.
I think it’s sugar-free?
There’s no lingering artificial sweetness, making it perfectly refreshing on a hot day♪

You mentioned acting as a bridge between farmers and customers — could you tell us more?

Our headquarters in Kagoshima originally ran a greengrocer.
Farmers would come to them asking what could be done about their non-standard vegetables — that was the spark that led to the creation of VEGE&me.

From there, we began offering hand-selected vegetables from contracted farmers across Japan as VEGE&me salads, hoping to be a true bridge between producers and customers.

With food loss and food safety being such important issues, that’s wonderful!
Since headquarters is in Kagoshima, do you also use Kumamoto-grown vegetables?

Vegetables are shipped directly from our central kitchen in Kagoshima, so every VEGE&me location offers the same quality and great taste.

Right now, all our tomatoes come from Kumamoto Prefecture!
There are several salad shops in Kumamoto, but we hope to contribute, even in a small way, to supporting local agriculture here.

We want everyone — kids to seniors — to enjoy customizing their own salad.
We hope to make vegetables even more delicious and turn them into something people want to eat as a main dish♪
