Introducing yoyn

Hello! I’m Mido, a writer for [Sarukuma].

Today, I’d like to introduce you to a wonderful spot in Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District:
[yoyn].

This cafe opened in September 2024 in a beautifully renovated traditional Japanese old house (kominka), and it is simply stylish beyond words!
It’s chic yet incredibly relaxing β€” I wholeheartedly recommend it!

yoyn is a sister shop to “Sononakanoichi,” which we featured previously.

[Sononakanoichi β€” Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District] A spot so authentic you might mistakenly tell people you went to Taiwan β€” perfect for lunch

Look for the banner flag and signboard out front to spot the entrance.

The exterior has a sophisticated, understated charm.

There’s parking right in front of the shop, but spaces are limited β€” we recommend carpooling if possible.

Now, let’s step inside! (Get ready for the stylish interior!)
Gorgeous! Absolutely stunning!

The chairs, lighting, mirrors β€” every detail is charming. There’s even a kotatsu (heated low table) area in one corner β€” perfect for families with small children.
This time, I went with a friend and her child β€” three of us in total β€” and we enjoyed lunch at the kotatsu seat!
Although kids’ chairs are not provided, you’re welcome to bring your own chair.
As you can see, we brought one along with us!

You’ll need to remove your shoes when entering, but strollers are also welcome.
Just wipe down the tires and you can bring it right in.

While there are no special children’s plates, smaller-sized plates, spoons, and forks can be borrowed!

Picture books, playing cards, and Othello board games are also available to borrow.
A great way to keep little ones happy while waiting for food!

Now, let me walk you through the menu!

<Lunch Menu>
Pasta, curry rice, dressed omurice (omelet rice), and hamburg doria
are all available!

・Pasta Lunch A β€” 2,200 yen
・Pasta Lunch B β€” 1,650 yen
・Curry Rice β€” 1,760 yen
You can choose from three types of pasta.
The curry rice is wonderfully spiced and looks delicious.
Every menu photo looks so tempting that it’s hard to decide!

<Dinner Menu>

The dinner lineup is full of irresistible options!
In the evening, you can also enjoy authentic Taiwanese cuisine. These items were also offered the day we visited!

There’s also an evening drinking set β€” perfect for those who like to enjoy a drink with their meal!
Course meals are also available, making it a great option for group gatherings. The drink menu is impressively varied! Craft beer paired with Taiwanese food sounds amazing…There’s also an all-you-can-drink option!

While there’s no dedicated kids’ menu, the kitchen can sometimes accommodate special requests, so feel free to ask if you have something in mind.
For very young children, you’re also welcome to bring your own baby food.

Our Recommended Menu at yoyn

This time, I went with the “Pasta Lunch A (Anchovy Peperoncino with SautΓ©ed Chicken).”
Pasta Lunch A comes with a salad, seasonal soup, mini dessert, and a drink.

First up, the salad β€” and it’s absolutely delicious!
Beautifully colorful, with fried lotus root and lightly spiced carrot, you can really tell every detail has been carefully prepared.
Next, the seasonal soup!
On this day, it was pumpkin potage. The natural sweetness of the pumpkin was wonderful, and the puff pastry topping made it feel extra special! And here comes the main pasta! Since I chose the version with sautΓ©ed chicken, it was wonderfully filling for a pasta dish.
The dishware and cutlery are lovely too β€” a treat for both eyes and taste buds!

To finish, I enjoyed the mini dessert with a coffee.
It was such a relaxing, blissful lunch in a beautiful space!

I almost ordered the spice curry instead, so next time, I’ll definitely come back to try it!
The dinner menu is impressively rich, so if you enjoy a good drink, this place is a must-visit!
