About Hashimoto Seika Factory Outlet Kazu

Hello, this is Asukaland, a writer for [Sarukuma].

Today I’m introducing a hidden gem in Nankan Town, Tamana District:
[Hashimoto Seika Factory Outlet Kazu].

Have you ever heard of it?
The local specialty of Nankan Town!!

Crispy, fluffy, and moist all at once.
A nostalgic snack with a deep, satisfying sweetness…

Kurobo!!

Today I’ll be introducing the factory-side outlet shop where these beloved kurobo (brown sugar sticks) are made (*^^*)

The parking lot is on the grounds of the ‘Hashimoto Seika’ shop (^^)

The bright, tidy interior is packed with a wide selection of ‘Hashimoto Seika’ sweets (*^.^*)
The aisles are wide, making it easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs.

There’s even a cozy rest area (^^)

The warm wooden interior gives off such a relaxing vibe!!

They also have beautifully packaged Hashimoto Seika gift sets — perfect as souvenirs to take home!

There are several varieties of kurobo to discover (^^)

‘Kawaii Kurobo’ (Cute Kurobo)

Made with 100% Kyushu-grown wheat flour and generously coated in rich brown sugar syrup — this bite-sized kurobo is just right!
Perfect for when you want just a little something sweet, or as an adorable snack for the kids ♫

‘Kawaii Milk-bo’ (Cute Milk Stick)

Also made with 100% Kyushu-grown wheat flour, this bite-sized milk-bo has a gentle, milky aroma!
If the rich sweetness of brown sugar syrup isn’t quite your thing, the milk version might be just right for you.
While “kurobo” literally means “black stick,” this white version is a rare find ☆

‘Usuyaki Kurobo’ (Thin & Crispy Kurobo)

A whole new texture — light, crispy, and crunchy!

Wait, what?!
A kurobo that ISN’T moist? I’ve never tried that before!!
A crispy kurobo really has me curious ☆☆☆

They also stock savory rice crackers (not made by Hashimoto Seika, but a great pairing).

The salty-sweet combo with kurobo sounds amazing ☆

Must-Try Picks at Hashimoto Seika Factory Outlet Kazu

If you find them, consider yourself lucky ♫

Oremono! (Broken Pieces!)

These are kurobo that broke during the manufacturing process, so they’re not in stock every day (>_<)
That’s exactly what makes them such a lucky find (*^.^*)

This popular item often sells out before noon!

Let’s open them up right away!

Honestly, to the untrained eye you’d hardly notice any cracks or breaks (^^)
And of course, the taste is exactly as delicious as the regular product!!

The shorter broken pieces actually looked like they had even more brown sugar syrup coating, which made them taste extra wonderful (>.<)y-~

Take one bite and the syrup-coated outside is wonderfully crisp, while the inside is soft and sweet (*^.^*)

I’d never tried the milk version before, but it had such a lovely, refreshing milky flavor (^-^)v

Ask me “which one is better?” or “which is your favorite?” and I could puzzle over it forever — they’re impossible to rank! (>.<)y-~

I thought I’d bought plenty, but our family devoured them in no time (>.<)y-~
Both the classic kurobo and milk-bo each have their own charm, and I’m completely hooked on both!

I’ll definitely have to go back for more!!!

The kurobo of Nankan Town — a treat that delights every generation!!
How about picking some up as a souvenir or as a sweet treat for home?

Just keep in mind that the (Oremono kurobo) we bought today are made from production-day extras, so the daily stock varies — heads up before you go (^^)
