Today I’m introducing a wonderful cafe located in Toshima-nishi, Higashi-ku
Rikimaru Coffee.

The stylish exterior gets you excited even before stepping inside! (^○^)

The parking lot can accommodate up to 8 cars.

The interior features an open kitchen with a wonderfully airy atmosphere.
Wow, so chic…
The high ceilings give it a modern, contemporary feel!

You can really feel the attention to detail in the lighting, interior design, and small accents (●＾o＾●)
Every Monday, you can experience “cupping” — a coffee tasting session.
I tried it myself, and through the hands-on experience, I learned whether I prefer dark roasts or favor acidic notes — a great way to discover your own taste! ♫

To the left of the entrance, there’s a spacious area where children can play.
It’s stocked with all kinds of toys,
so kids of various ages can have a great time.

There’s even a small mini-tent that feels like a secret hideout — so exciting…♪
The little ones are sure to love it.

They also provide children’s dining chairs, so you can dine with peace of mind.
They’re all so colorful and adorable… (#^.^#)

There’s even a play kitchen set!
You can really feel the warmth of the wooden toys ♪

There are also books and magazines that both children and adults can enjoy, plus a shogi (Japanese chess) set! (^^)/

Inside the cafe, there’s a diaper-changing station.
It’s rare to find a privately owned restaurant with such complete amenities!

Right next to the changing station, there’s a chair, so it can also serve as a nursing area.
A wonderful touch for parents traveling with babies.

What’s more, you can bring in baby food, and they can even provide hot water for preparing formula (^^)/
Not pictured, but there’s also a tatami seating area, so families with infants can relax and enjoy their meal ♪

It’s truly a family-friendly cafe (●＾o＾●)

The seasonings used in the kitchen are carefully chosen to avoid artificial flavorings and sweeteners as much as possible — only the healthiest options.
A reassuring choice for the health-conscious! (^○^)

As for the ingredients, they prioritize pesticide-free vegetables
and meat from animals raised with care for both the animals and the environment.

Recommended Menu Items at Rikimaru Coffee

On the day of my visit, the lunch was a free-range egg lunch plate.
These carefully sourced eggs have a wonderfully rich flavor — exquisite!

The tomato sauce on top includes curry spices as a hidden ingredient, showcasing their attention to flavor and ingredient quality (●＾o＾●)

The lunch plate menu rotates daily — featuring curry, spare ribs, toast, and more —

At Rikimaru Coffee, the owner personally selects green beans and handles the roasting in-house.
The result is wonderfully rich, top-quality coffee!
During the warmer months, the iced coffee is also a great choice (●＾o＾●)
For those who don’t drink coffee, I highly recommend the Cascara Fizz.
It’s made from cascara — the dried flesh of coffee cherries — making it a refreshing summer drink.
It’s caffeine-free, so even expectant mothers can enjoy it with peace of mind (#^.^#)

And finally, don’t miss the cheesecake on the dessert menu — it’s absolutely divine ♪

As a final note,
404mcd operates as a shared kitchen with the concept of being “a space where people involved with coffee can freely express themselves in various forms,” hosting a variety of pop-ups and vendors.
There are many collaborations with Rikimaru Coffee, and during summer break they hosted snack-making classes for children.
