Today I’m taking you to Ueki-machi in Kita Ward, Kumamoto City, to visit
[3gouter — Sun Goûter], a charming patisserie tucked into the northern outskirts of Kumamoto City.

I enjoyed a relaxing cake break in their lovely eat-in space, and I just had to share it with you (*^.^*)

Convenient parking is available right in front of [3gouter — Sun Goûter].

Step inside [3gouter — Sun Goûter] and you’ll find a calm, refined atmosphere — perfect for a quiet afternoon treat.

Towards the back, you’ll discover a cozy eat-in space (^^)

There are both table and counter seats — choose whichever suits your mood.

A row of glittering, jewel-like cakes greets you at the display case (^-^)v

Recommended Menu at 3gouter (Sun Goûter)

On this visit, I went with the strawberry shortcake, the croquant cream puff, and a hot coffee.

The simple round plate the cakes are served on perfectly matches the calm aesthetic of the shop — already a delight before the first bite!

Light, fluffy, moist sponge paired with a beautifully understated whipped cream — pure happiness in every bite (*^.^*)

And of course — strawberries (*^.^*)
Nothing beats strawberry season in Japan! The fruit topping changes seasonally, so there’s always a fresh reason to come back.

The croquant cream puff (chou à la crème) had been on my must-try list.

Unlike a typical soft cream puff, the choux pastry here is firm and craggy, with a delightfully crunchy texture.

Dunk it into the rich custard cream, take a bite (^o^)/

The crisp, crackling “zaku-zaku” sound is something completely new!

The custard is gently sweet and fragrant with real vanilla bean — comforting and refined.

Heads up: there’s a one-drink minimum if you’re using the eat-in space.
My hot coffee arrived in a generous, home-style mug — freshly brewed and plentiful.
Even after finishing the cake, there was still coffee left to savor — a perfect, leisurely break (*^.^*)
