About Otete no Oyatsu

Hello travelers! This is Mofumofu, a writer for Sarukuma.

Today I’m taking you to Yasukubo in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, to a charming new sweets stop called
[Otete no Oyatsu]!

The shop opened on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, and I rushed over to check it out!

There’s parking for about two cars right in front of the shop.
If those spots are full, there’s a coin parking lot nearby (60 minutes for 100 yen).

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by the lovely staff with warm smiles. So welcoming!

The donut lineup actually changes depending on the day of the week.

Sunday to Tuesday: Nama Donuts (Malasada) — soft, fluffy Hawaiian-style donuts.

Wednesday to Saturday: donuts from bb natural donut in Kikuchi City, which we’ve featured before.
bb natural donuts are also sold frozen, so you can grab them on Sunday through Tuesday too!

The bb natural donuts are also sold frozen — perfect souvenirs for your hotel.
Just let them thaw at room temperature for about 15 minutes and they’re ready to enjoy! 🍩

Otete no Oyatsu Recommended Menu

I asked for a recommendation and ordered the Premium Kumamoto Strawberry soft serve! 🍓
Lining up several would have made a gorgeous photo, but it was freezing and snowing outside, so one was enough for me!

I took the donuts home, and time to unbox!
Each donut is individually wrapped — super convenient.

This time I picked Plain, Kinako, Double Chocolate Crunch, Double Chocolate, Blueberry, and the Christmas Donut! 🍩
Lined up together, they look just adorable.

Soooo good!
Not too sweet — you could easily eat several in one sitting! 🍩💕

To celebrate the grand opening, all soft serve flavors are 100 yen off until January 31!
And here’s the best part for night owls: Otete no Oyatsu stays open until 11 PM — perfect for a late-night sweet craving while exploring Kumamoto.

Picture-perfect, delicious donuts and soft serve — definitely worth a stop on your Kumamoto trip! ♪

And the soft serve has a deep, milky flavor that’s absolutely delicious!
My daughter ate most of the banana though… (T_T)

As you eat your way down, you’ll find whipped cream and corn flakes at the bottom.
