Today I’m excited to introduce you to a sweet little gem located in Hikari-no-Mori, Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District:

Mizuki opened its doors on July 7, 2023 β Tanabata, Japan’s Star Festival π The shop sits right across the street from TSUTAYA Hikari-no-Mori, and you can spot it easily thanks to the bold signboard and colorful flag banners. There’s also plenty of parking right in front π Ώ
The flag banners with cute fruit candy illustrations are adorable!

The menu lists the best window for enjoying each treat β all fruit candies are best eaten within 30 minutes of purchase. The kiwi candy can also be cut and individually wrapped on request, which is super convenient!

Shine Muscat candy is incredibly popular!
It was already sold out by the time I got there!!!
The kiwi candy makes a serious visual impact! That tangy kiwi paired with sweet candy sounds like such a winning combo β¨
A whole new take on fruit candy β¨
The sparkle π is what catches your eye first!
It comes in a cup, so it’s easy for kids to eat and perfect for sharing with the whole family β¨
Highly recommended!
Churros aren’t easy to find around here. That crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside treat is a hit with both kids and grown-ups!
The squash drinks are homemade fruit sodas β refreshing and perfect for hot summer days β¨
The kiwi squash is loaded with real fruit pulp π
The orange squash is calling my name too!
And the coffee is wonderfully affordable β¨
While the kids enjoy their sweets, parents can sneak in a quick coffee break!
By the register, traditional bekko-ame (Japanese tortoiseshell-style hard candy) is sold for just 50 yen apiece!

I picked up the “Star-Showered Fruit Kiwi & Plum” and the “Sugar Churros”!
First up: the new-style “Star-Showered Fruit Kiwi & Plum” π
Just look at the sparkle π
You eat the fruit and the candy together.
The tartness of the kiwi and plum dances perfectly with the sweetness of the candy β¨

You eat it with a spoon, which makes it really kid-friendly!
The fruit inside was fresh and delicious β¨
Next up: the “Sugar Churros” π
Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside β just delicious!
Now I’m craving them againβ¦
Mizuki Fruit Candy Specialty Shop is located just about 300 meters from Hikari-no-Mori Park! It’s the perfect stop after a play session at the park or on your way home from shopping at YouMe Town Hikari-no-Mori βͺ
