Introducing SAKURA DELICA Cafe

Today I’m taking you to Kamisuizenji in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City
to visit SAKURA DELICA Cafe.

You may already know SAKURA DELICA as a beloved local specialty shop for Japanese shokupan (premium milk bread). Now they’ve opened a brand-new cafe (*^-^*)

OBIYAMA TETOTE (Kamisuizenji, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto) — Opening Nov 19: A New Family Complex with Indoor Kids’ Space in the Heart of the City

I had the chance to attend the special preview event (*^-^*)
The GRAND OPEN is Sunday, November 19 💛

The cafe sits along the East Bypass. Head south from the Obiyama 1-chome intersection, and once you spot the “Shabu-Yo” restaurant, you’ll see it just before, on the left.

You can drive in directly from the bypass. There are 45 free parking spaces, so no need to worry about finding a spot 🎵

You can also enter and exit just off the bypass turn 🎵

SAKURA DELICA Cafe is easy to spot from outside (*^-^*) and there’s a terrace area too.

Inside SAKURA DELICA Cafe

The cafe is right on your left as you walk in 💛

The interior has a calm, relaxed vibe. You order and pay first, then enjoy your meal — common practice at many Japanese cafes 🎵

SAKURA DELICA Kumamoto Branch — Grand Opening Feb 1 in Kumamoto & Yatsushiro: Melt-in-the-Mouth Bread with a Secret Recipe (Yasu-machi, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto)

The fan-favorite Blue Mountain Bread and English Bread are ¥1,000 (tax incl.) for a full loaf, ¥500 for a half loaf.

Danish pastries (Plain, Chocolate Orange) are ¥600.

Rusks: large ¥300, small ¥200.

Lunch on the spot AND take-home bread — what a win!

Pasta — ¥980

(Canadian Mussels in Tomato Sauce, Shrimp & Cherry Tomato Peperoncino, Chef’s Choice Pasta)

Sandwiches

Premium Pastrami Beef Sandwich — ¥950 / Jalapeño Sausage Sandwich — ¥850

Hearty BLT Sandwich — ¥700 / Croque Monsieur — ¥500

Add a salad, soup, and drink set to any main for just +¥500 (*^-^*)

A Kids’ Plate is also available at a wallet-friendly ¥600 — perfect whether you’re stopping in for a quick break or a full meal.

After plenty of agonizing, my BLT cravings won out — so I went with the BLT Sandwich and an iced cafe latte 💛

Drinks are self-serve (*^-^*)

Slip your cup all the way in and the splash guard takes care of the rest ( *´艸｀)

Now I’ll wait at my seat for the sandwich to arrive.

The interior has a soothing palette of soft greens and natural wood.

And yes — kid-sized chairs and tableware are ready to go 🥰

This is the cafe-side terrace, right next to the entrance ♪

And here’s the seating next to the play area.

The terrace is shaded by big parasols, so you can dine outside without baking in the sun.
The weather was lovely and the breeze was perfect, so I picked the terrace ♪

My sandwich was ready, so I went up to grab it.

You can practically hear the crunch from the photo 😍 generously sized and seriously satisfying.

Imagine SAKURA DELICA’s signature shokupan turned into a sandwich — pure indulgence 💛

Looks amazing ( *´艸｀) — itadakimasu! 💛

“Mmm — so good 😋”

Juicy, savory bacon meets crisp lettuce and the gentle tang of tomato — the combo is just spot-on.

And the crunchy, freshly-toasted shokupan really brings the whole sandwich together.

The pickles are mild rather than sharp, so even kids will happily munch through them.

Some sandwiches are also available for takeout, so you can let the kids play first and bring lunch home, or set up a picnic outside.

At launch, there will be generous discounts for Selmo members too — a great way to make your visit even more rewarding ♡

Rain or shine, it looks set to become a real haven for parents who want a relaxing spot while their little ones play freely.
