Introducing muccu

Hello, travelers! This is Gachako, writer for [SaruKuma].

Today I’m excited to introduce a hidden gem located in Taimei-machi Kaiden, Tamana City—
the spice curry cafe bar muccu.

Is the logo motif a spice? So adorable!

Heading from central Tamana toward Arao, you’ll find the shop just before merging onto Route 208 Bypass.

Since April 2021, the owner had been running a “pop-up” operation at another location in Tamana City.
Here’s a photo from that time.

I enjoyed it exactly one year ago on August 24th!

After much anticipation, the brick-and-mortar shop officially opened on August 23, 2022!!
It’s truly inspiring to see how the owner built up this dream from a humble pop-up.
So trust me, everyone—this place is a sure thing!

Parking is available both in front of and behind the shop, with space for several cars.

Here’s a peek inside.
Right at the entrance, there are 6 counter seats.

Plus 6 tables.
The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing.
Many congratulatory flowers had been delivered for the grand opening.

Here’s the lunch menu.
3 types of curry are available:
・Spice Chicken Curry
・Butter Chicken Curry
・Green Curry

Single curry: 1,000 yen
Two-curry combo: 1,200 yen

Both options come with Lu Rou Fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice).

Baguette Sandwiches (700 yen)
・Veggie & Steamed Chicken Sandwich
・Cheese Keema Curry Sandwich

Today’s desserts were:
・Tiramisu (450 yen)
・Gateau Chocolat (400 yen)
・Cheese Terrine Brûlée (400 yen)

Non-alcoholic drink menu, and

an alcoholic drink menu is also available.

As an opening special, all drinks are 100 yen off.

muccu Recommended Menu

I ordered the Two-Curry Combo (Spice Chicken Curry and Green Curry).
(It was a tough decision!)
The dish is loaded with chunky meat and topped generously with Lu Rou Fan, the famous Taiwanese street food.

You don’t see curry paired with Lu Rou Fan very often, do you?
When I asked the lovely owner why she decided to combine them, she replied:

“Because I love it.”

The best answer ever. That’s honestly what makes me happiest.
The spices in the Lu Rou Fan (like star anise and cinnamon)
are gently toned down to harmonize with the curry.

I also loved the vegetable-focused side dishes.
The day I visited, the plate featured komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), lotus root, carrot, paprika, and eggplant.

The firmly cooked multigrain rice pairs beautifully with the spicy curries—
it was absolutely delicious.
After the meal, I felt refreshed thanks to the energizing power of the spices.
