Introducing Banarun

Hello there! This is Gussan, writer for [SaruKuma].
Today I’m excited to introduce Banarun, located in Oe, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City.

Look for this cheerful yellow food truck parked in the lot between the main gate of Kyushu Gakuin and Kyushu Gakuin Midori Kindergarten — that’s Banarun!
Every time I drove down the streetcar road, I’d wonder, “What kind of food truck is that?”
Although it was rainy on the day we visited, I went with my usual lunch crew anyway! ♪
Banarun is a banana juice specialty shop limited to just 50 cups per day, created by the owner of PREST, a personal training gym specifically for those who want to lose weight beautifully.
At PREST, they practice training methods that build strength without bulking up the muscles unnecessarily — perfect for those who want to diet, achieve a model-like figure, or aim for a lean, toned physique.
A gym just for those who want to slim down beautifully… I want to go (desperately)!
If you’re driving, you can park in the spot at the far left of the lot where Banarun is stationed, as well as in spots ②, ③, and ④ (shared parking).
Please note that you cannot park in spot ①.

Natural “Raw” Banana Juice — 390 yen
You can add toppings like black sesame, cinnamon, or matcha for an additional fee.

The banana juice from PREST personal training gym is no ordinary banana juice! When it comes to training, protein is essential!
They even offer banana juice made with PREST’s original protein!
I personally don’t get much exercise these days, but I’m sure plenty of people would love being able to get bananas and protein in one go right after a workout.

This time I ordered, from left to right:
・Natural “Raw” Banana Juice
・Premium Kinako (Roasted Soybean Flour) Protein
・Black Sesame Kinako
・Almond Milk Mix

Sugar-free banana juice that lets you taste the “natural” sweetness of perfectly ripened bananas.
I had the black sesame kinako, and the rich black sesame flavor came through beautifully alongside the banana’s natural sweetness — absolutely delicious.
This time, I used the coupon app “Mottoku”, which we’ve featured on SaruKuma before.
If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend downloading the app — you’ll get free toppings of black sesame, cinnamon, matcha, black sesame kinako, or cream cheese.

Made fresh to order, this “raw” banana juice has a best-by time of just 877 seconds (banana). lol
Be sure to enjoy it while it’s still fresh!

Banarun has such a cute shop name and logo, too!
They’ve set a goal to reduce 1.5 tons of banana food waste as part of their SDGs 2022 initiative, and they even use unique bamboo straws — they’re conscientious in so many ways that I felt like I’d become more conscientious myself just by drinking their banana juice. lol
And since it’s highly nutritious, it makes a great snack for kids, too! ♪
