A Sarukuma writer visits “Crepes,” an adorable crepe shop in the Hotakubo neighborhood of Kumamoto City. Prices start from just 130 yen. We’ve also rounded up family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

Hello, travelers!
This is Binako, writer for Sarukuma!

Today I’m excited to introduce you to
a charming little crepe shop in Hotakubo, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City:
“Crepes”.

Even from the outside, this shop is irresistibly cute…

Parking is conveniently available right in front of the shop, with space for about 4 cars. ^^

Now, I have to mention something I deliberately saved for later — at the entrance, you’re greeted by a giant mama bear, baby bear, and a banana!

Doesn’t it just make you want to give them a hug?
“Hey there, thanks for stopping by!”
I swear I could hear them say it. (Just my imagination, of course!)

Inside, you’ll also find handmade goods for sale!

The selection of cute little accessories and knick-knacks is delightful — perfect souvenir hunting territory! ★

And tucked at the back table, there’s a giant teddy bear waiting to keep you company.
A truly unique experience — sharing your crepe with a bear buddy!

On the other side of the room, there’s a cozy two-person table. ^^

Now, on to the main attraction — the crepes! The variety here is amazing!!
Each crepe is rolled into an adorable bite-sized bundle that’s just too cute!

They also offer drinks, so you can grab a beverage to pair with your treat. ♪

There are 23 different varieties of crepes to choose from!
With prices ranging from just 130 to 180 yen, you’ll be tempted to try every single one…!

The display case next door also features
macarons and Basque cheesecake! ♪

All macarons are 150 yen each.
Check out the bottom left — that’s the bunny-shaped rare cheesecake
It’s almost too cute to eat (but you definitely should!).
This one is 400 yen.

Basque cheesecake at just 250 yen — what a steal!
With such a wonderful selection of sweets, you can take your time deciding. ♪

Recommended Menu

This time, I went with custard, pistachio, and madeleine.

Just 130 yen each!

As a huge pistachio fan, that one was a no-brainer for me.
And the moment you bite in, you can really taste it!
So much pistachio flavor!!!!

Even though they’re packed with cream, they don’t feel heavy at all!
The bite-sized portion makes them so easy to eat!

And the crepe wrapper itself is wonderfully chewy and delicious. ♪

You’ll definitely find yourself going back for seconds (and thirds)! ( *´艸`)

By the window seating, there’s an amusing little sign suggesting fun ways to enjoy crepes from Crepes. (haha)
Receiving one of these crepes as a gift would brighten anyone’s day! ♪

If any of the situations on the sign apply to you — definitely grab a Crepes crepe!
And even if they don’t — grab one anyway!!!

I’m already dreaming about what to try on my next visit. (haha) — Binako, signing off!
