Introducing Huang (Fan) Chinese Cuisine
Hello there!
I’m Igaguri π°, a Sarukuma writer who regularly gets cravings for Chinese food.
Today I’m introducing
Huang (Fan) Chinese Cuisine,
located in Iwasaki, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

The parking lot is right in front of the restaurant.

Heads up β even on weekday afternoons, the parking lot can fill up completely, so plan accordingly!

Further down this road you’ll also find
Coeur a Coeur,
Osama Sand,
and Cafe Charton β all places we’ve previously featured!

Just past the intersection, Huang (Fan) sits quietly tucked away β

Inside, there are 3 standard table seats,

plus counter seats that are perfect if you’re dining solo,

a private tatami room,

a private horigotatsu (sunken kotatsu) room, and even a private room with a round table and chairs!
(About three years ago when our family visited with a stroller,
they kindly opened up the spacious round-table private room just for the three of us β I still remember how touched I was!)

They also have children’s chairs available β such a relief for parents (T_T)

Right at the entrance, you’ll see the weekly lunch specials posted βͺ

You can choose two main dishes.
Rice refills are free.
It reminds me of “Elmondo” in Nagasu Town that we recently introduced…
[Elmondo – Nagasu Town, Tamana District] Get Stuffed with the Pick-Two Main Dish Select Lunch!

For those who think “two mains isn’t enough!”, there’s also a plate lunch option!
It comes with kid-favorite karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and shrimp crackers, making it perfect for sharing with little ones β

Of course, the Γ la carte menu is extensive too,

and there are smaller-sized portions too!

You’ll also find more kid-friendly favorites like sesame balls and chicken rice croquettes ~ (((o(*οΎβ½οΎ*)o)))

This time, I ordered the weekly lunch special for 970 yen
(stir-fried beef and vegetables in douchi black bean sauce, with nira chive noodles)!

That douchi black bean adds such a deep, rich flavor β absolutely delicious!
Goes perfectly with rice!

Free rice refills mean…
they actually bring the rice out in a traditional ohitsu (wooden rice container) right from the start! What a nice touch!!

The nira soba is a simple soy-sauce-based ramen with a generous heap of nira chives on top!
It’s not spicy, so I thought β maybe even kids would happily eat this?
For adults, you can add their homemade sansho chili oil to give it a nice spicy kick (^^βͺ
When you have small children, opportunities to enjoy Chinese cuisine can be hard to come by, so why not treat yourself to something special at Huang (Fan)? (^_-)-β
