inside AEON Mall Crea in Kashima Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture:
Beard Papa’s Fresh’n Natural Cream Puffs!
This is a takeout-only specialty shop dedicated to cream puffs,
and it’s a globally recognized brand with locations across Japan and around the world.
Many of you may already be familiar with it!
Just look for the iconic bright yellow sign and the friendly mustachioed grandpa mascot!

In all of Kumamoto Prefecture, this AEON Mall Crea location is the only Beard Papa’s shop you’ll find.

Both my son and I are absolutely obsessed with the cream puffs here,
and we visit this shop all the time!The menu offers everything from classic favorites to seasonal specials,
and even unique creations like cream puff rusks!

And the best part? Everything is incredibly wallet-friendly!
The display case is filled with rows of freshly baked golden choux pastry shells…
and once you place your order, the staff fills each puff with custard cream right before your eyes!
This little touch is such a delightful experience!
Kids find it especially fascinating, and my son always watches in awe.

This time we picked up the signature ‘Custard Pie Cream Puff’ for 170 yen,
and the stick-shaped ‘Custard Nuts’ for 200 yen!
First up, the Custard Pie Cream Puff.
Reliably delicious every single time!

The signature flaky, crispy pie crust pairs perfectly
with the silky-smooth, lightly sweetened custard cream inside,
creating a flavor that’s universally loved by everyone from little kids to grandparents!
The Custard Nuts has an extra-crunchy pastry shell
stuffed generously with rich custard cream from end to end!
Its convenient stick shape makes it especially easy for kids to eat.

These cream puffs also make wonderful souvenirs or gifts to bring home!
