Introducing Yurutto-tei Sakurazaka

Hello there!
This is Igaguri 🌰, a writer for Sarukuma.

Today I’m excited to introduce a hidden gem located in Sosaki, Shichijo-machi, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
Yurutto-tei Sakurazaka.”

This place only opened last July — have you heard about it yet?

Just a 30-minute drive from central Kumamoto City, it’s a private cottage-style family onsen perched on a hilltop with a sweeping view over the Ueki Onsen district. Pure bliss!

It’s also right near “Patisserie Météore” — a spot we’ve covered before!

I dropped by on a Sunday around 4 PM.

There were three groups ahead of us, so we waited about 20 minutes. Luckily, my child was napping, so being able to wait in the car was a real lifesaver (lol).

By the time our turn came up, the wait had stretched to 40 minutes — wow!

You can also borrow plenty of toys to keep little ones happy! 🎉

Why Yurutto-tei Sakurazaka Is So Special

Just look at that resort vibe!

This time, we booked Cottage No. 4 “Sakura,” which features a spacious open-air bath.
(2,500 yen per hour)

The indoor bath and washing area are a bit on the cozy side.

If you’re looking for something roomier, I’d suggest:
Special Cottage No. 1 “Sweet Pea”
Special Cottage No. 2 “Marguerite”
(3,500 yen per hour)

The lounge area is wonderfully spacious! ☆
You can peek through the window to keep an eye on the kids in the bath while the grown-ups relax in style. 🎉

There’s even a TV, and you’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks!

The sink is roomy too — and yes, there’s a refrigerator!

This is unlike any family onsen I’ve ever been to.

Every cottage comes with its own toilet, refrigerator, and TV!

There’s also free Wi-Fi.
Honestly, they’ve thought of everything! (lol)

You can drive right up to the entrance of your cottage, which is a huge plus on rainy days!

The vending machine even stocks beer ♡

And just behind the cottages…

…a POOOOOOOOL!!!!

The pool is reserved exclusively as a set with the family bath.
When booked together with Special Cottage No. 1 or No. 2, the package starts from 7,000 yen for 2 hours (weekdays).

Pool season opens July 1st, but reservations are already being accepted!

It was apparently a huge hit last year, so if you’re interested, book early! 😉⭐
