Introducing Fruits no Sato Tabaruzaka

Hello, traveler!
This is Maru, a writer for Sarukuma ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™ƒ

Today, I’m sharing one of Kumamoto City’s best spots for strawberry picking ๐Ÿ“
Located in Shitamizu, Ueki-machi, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City,
welcome to Fruits no Sato Tabaruzaka!

This shop is the reception location.
You’ll find it right next to the FamilyMart Ueki Tabaruzaka convenience store.

โ˜… The actual greenhouse where you pick strawberries is about a 10-minute drive from here!

Check in at the window inside the shop.
For strawberry picking, you can choose between pay-by-weight or all-you-can-eat.

Here are the pay-by-weight prices!

And here are the all-you-can-eat prices.

Children aged 3 and under eat free! ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ถ

The reception shop also sells fresh strawberries, fruits, and vegetables.

The fresh local vegetables are wonderfully affordable!

I couldn’t resist picking some up myself!

There are also restrooms on the right side of the shop.

You’ll receive a simple map to the greenhouse, then drive there in your own car.

The staff also gives you the address of a community center near the greenhouse, so plug it into your GPS for an easy trip ๐Ÿš™๐Ÿ’จ

Turn the final corner and you’ll see the greenhouse โ€” there are signs guiding the way.

A staff member greets you when you arrive. Here’s the parking lot near the greenhouse.

Right next to the parking is a local community center where you can use the restroom.

There are also vending machines.

There’s a hand-washing station in front of the community center too, which is very reassuring.

Why You’ll Love Fruits no Sato Tabaruzaka

Time to step into the greenhouse โœฉ.*หš

Wow! A greenhouse packed with strawberries ๐Ÿ“

The weather was beautiful, which made it pretty warm inside the greenhouse.

This time, we chose all-you-can-eat โ€” a generous 45 minutes!
That’s plenty of time to enjoy yourself (^^)

Here are the rules for visitors.

Look at all those gorgeous berries!

Three varieties are available โ€” Toyohime, Sagahonoka, and Yayoihime โ€” so you can taste-test and compare them all.

You can even spot the green, unripe berries hereโ€ฆ
It’s something you’ll never see at a supermarket โ€” a wonderful learning moment for kids! (^O^)

The strawberry blossoms are blooming tooโ€ฆ

Just look how adorable they are ๐Ÿ˜

Mmm โ€” so juicy ๐Ÿ’“

Freshly picked, they’re sweet, tangy, and bursting with juice.
What’s that flavor โ€” first love? Springtime? Whatever it is, the berries are full of refreshing moisture that perfectly quenched our thirst (ยดโˆ€๏ฝ€)

The Strawberry Sisters! โ™ช

The greenhouse got pretty warm during our 45 minutes, so we stepped outside for breaks between rounds โ€” we ended up doing about 3 rounds total โ™ช

Children may sweat a lot, so bringing a change of clothes is a good idea ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง

By the end, we were absolutely filled with strawberries.
Absolutely delicious! ๐Ÿ“
