Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a hidden gem in Numayamazu, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City:
[Shonan Park].

This peaceful park enshrines the hair relics of Yokoi Shonan, a renowned philosopher and political reformer of Japan’s late Edo period (Bakumatsu era).

Here’s the parking lot.

A vending machine is conveniently located right in front of the park.
There’s also a convenience store nearby, which is super handy for grabbing snacks and drinks!
