Introducing BAYSIDE Minato Cafe (Bayside Minato Cafe)

Hello, travelers!
This is Ayu-mama, writer for SaruKuma.

Today I’m introducing a lovely spot located in Shinko, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City:
BAYSIDE Minato Cafe (Bayside Minato Cafe).

This cafe is located inside the Kumamoto Port Ferry Terminal.

There’s a spacious parking lot, perfect if you’re driving.

Inside the terminal, you’ll find a fully accessible multi-purpose restroom,
and even a kid-sized restroom, so families can visit with peace of mind.

There’s a diaper-changing station and a nursing room available too — everything covered!

There’s a souvenir shop too,

and you can even snap a commemorative photo with Kumamon dressed in a sailor outfit — a must for fans of Kumamoto’s beloved black bear mascot!

Recommended Menu at BAYSIDE Minato Cafe

Here’s the cafe menu.
Hearty options like steak are surprisingly affordable here!

It’s a great spot for a relaxed lunch while waiting for your ferry!

They serve bubble tea (tapioca) too!

And take a look at this beautiful seating area with floor-to-ceiling glass windows!
It’s a perfect date spot too — super romantic with the seaside view!

Today, I tried this!

Minato Soft Serve Ice Cream — only 350 yen!

Doesn’t it look amazing? And trust me — it tastes just as good as it looks!

Since the weather was lovely, I enjoyed it on the grassy lawn area outside.

There are benches available too.
Plenty of families were relaxing on this open green space!
Under the warm sunshine, that soft serve tasted even more delicious!

If you time it right, you can even watch the ferries arriving and departing.

Whether you’re traveling with family, your partner, or friends, why not enjoy soft serve while gazing out at the sea?
