About the Cafe

Hello, travelers!
I’m Ayu-mama, a writer for Sarukuma.

Today I’d like to introduce
FLAT CAFE, a charming spot in Kengun-Honmachi, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City.

Here’s a fun fact: this cafe is run by Comfort House, a local home-building company!

And it really shows. Just look at that exterior…

The interior is just as lovely!

Every piece of furniture has been carefully chosen — beautiful and stylish throughout!
There are even comfy sofas, perfect for relaxing.

Parking is available right next to the cafe.

Photos of menu items are displayed at the entrance — perfect for international visitors who want to peek before deciding!

There’s a baby room next to the restroom, so families with little ones are very welcome.
There’s also a high chair available inside that I’m sure they’d be happy to lend you.

So many tempting choices — it’s tough to pick just one!

This time, I went for the highly-praised
‘Cafe Time Set (Dessert Plate)’ for 500 yen!

First, you get to choose your drink.

I followed the staff’s recommendation and went with a flavored tea!
You can pick your favorite flavor — I chose white peach!

Served in a beautiful teapot — such a lovely touch!
The sweet aroma of white peach is absolutely irresistible!

And here it is — the famous dessert plate!
Doesn’t it look amazing?!

Three different desserts in petite portions —
perfect for anyone who wants ‘just a little taste’ of everything!

On this visit, the trio was a muffin, a mousse, and a berry ice cream.

The muffin was a banana muffin, gently warmed and divine alongside the whipped cream!
The berry ice cream had a refreshing, clean finish — absolutely delicious!
