Hello, travelers!
This is Rikotama, your SaruKuma writer.

Today I’m taking you to a wonderful little neighborhood park in Shimoezu, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City, called Ezu Seira Higashi Park (江ζ΄₯γ‚»γ‚€γƒ©ζ±ε…¬εœ’) β€” a hidden gem that’s perfect for families exploring Kumamoto with little ones.

As the name suggests, the park sits on the eastern edge of the Seira Town residential area (*^β–½^*).

It’s also right around the corner from the popular ramen restaurant Menshou Teshio Honten, which we’ve featured before on SaruKuma β€” a great combo if you want a tasty lunch followed by playtime!

There’s a covered bench area, but the sun streams in pretty strongly, so in summer be sure to bring a hat or parasol (;^Ο‰^).

There’s one drinking water fountain on site!

And there’s a simple portable-style restroom β€” handy when you’re out with the kids!

You’ll spot a small stage tucked into one corner.

It’s likely used for summer festivals and local community events β€” a charming glimpse of Japanese neighborhood life (*^-^*).

The open ground area is beautifully maintained β€” perfect for a game of tag or kicking a ball around!

Right in the middle of the park stands a very prominent clock!!

It’s a thoughtful touch β€” kids can keep an eye on the time and head home when promised, which is a relief for parents β˜†β™ͺ

A few park rules to keep in mind!

If your child is practicing riding a bicycle, please make sure a parent or guardian is with them (*’Ο‰’*).

A beautiful wooden playground set!!!

The monkey bars are wonderfully colorful β˜†

Classic swings!

Iron bars in three sizes β€” large, medium, and small!

Right next to the slide, there’s a sweet little grassy hill (≧◇≦).

Kids can use it as a secret base, play tag, or invent all kinds of imaginative games β€” endless fun ♬

There’s no parking lot or vending machine on site, but there’s a Lawson convenience store about a 3-minute walk away,

so you can easily grab drinks and snacks (*^β–½^*).

The park is fairly new and not yet shown on most maps, which means it tends to be uncrowded β€” a relaxing spot for some open-air play!
