Introducing Santa Pre Patisserie Shiroyama Main Store

Today I’m taking you to Kamidai in Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City, to visit the magical “Santa Pre Shiroyama Main Store”.

You can spot it from a distance — there’s a charming Santa Claus climbing into the chimney on the rooftop! Kids absolutely adore this whimsical detail, making it a guaranteed hit for family visits.

The parking lot is conveniently located right next to the shop, and it even has a covered carport — perfect for rainy days when you don’t want to get drenched while carrying your precious cake box!

The first thing that catches your eye when you step inside is an enormous pie called the Medetai Pie (a play on words combining “congratulations” and “sea bream” in Japanese). It’s the perfect celebratory treat for special occasions!

And here’s a fun surprise — it’s actually a giant apple pie inside!

The shop is filled with an impressive selection of baked goods, and the warm, cozy atmosphere truly makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world — a delightful little escape from everyday life.

The cakes lined up in the display case are works of art — each one is so beautifully crafted that you’ll find yourself completely mesmerized. Just looking at them is a treat in itself!

Tarte Tatin — 648 yen

This classic French upside-down apple tart is the chef’s recommendation, and it’s easy to see why!

Premium Mont Blanc — 1,080 yen
The photo doesn’t quite capture how generously sized this cake is. If you’re a Mont Blanc fan, this is an absolute must-try!

Riku — 1,944 yen
A decadent baked chocolate cake sandwiched with rich ganache. Calling all chocolate lovers — this one’s for you!

The roll cake displayed next to it also has rave reviews, and my friend personally recommends it as well!

Recommended Menu Items at Santa Pre Patisserie Shiroyama Main Store

For my visit, I tried the Rikyu — 453 yen

This elegant matcha cake is named after the famous tea master Sen no Rikyu, and the rich green color makes its matcha essence immediately apparent. It’s so refined, you’ll almost want to bow before taking a bite!

I went straight in from the top!

The matcha is so intensely rich it brings tears to your eyes.
Incredibly deep flavor!

There’s a delightful crunch from what seems to be nuts mixed in, adding a wonderful textural contrast that makes every bite even more enjoyable.

This cake deserves the utmost respect — Master Rikyu, indeed… even though I just devoured it!

Next, I tried the Stylish Mont Blanc — 500 yen

With its sleek appearance and sophisticated name, it almost looks like it’s wearing a tailored suit!

The chocolate ribbon spiraling around it also gives it a festive, Christmas tree-like appearance.

The way it melts in your mouth is divine!
The texture on your tongue is heavenly!

It’s not overly sweet, allowing the rich Mont Blanc flavor to truly shine — absolutely delicious.

It feels remarkably light, making it surprisingly easy to enjoy every last bite.
