Hello, travelers!
I’m Binako, a writer for SaruKuma,
and I’ve recently started doing radio calisthenics every morning!
Today, I’m excited to introduce you to
Boku no Season, a charming little spot located in
Kitasumiyoshi, Shisui-machi, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

The shop is tucked inside Higashi Bokujo (Higashi Ranch)!

Convenient parking is available right in front of the shop.

There’s outdoor seating too — perfect for soaking up the countryside vibes on a sunny day!

Beef Skewer (Gyu-kushi) — 500 yen
Boku no Curry — 700 yen
Egg Omu-Curry — 900 yen
The curry lineup is impressive, with several mouth-watering options to choose from.
That beef skewer is calling my name too…

Shio-Koji Karaage (Salt-Malt Fried Chicken) — 500 yen
Marinated in shio-koji (a traditional Japanese fermented seasoning), this karaage is guaranteed to be juicy and flavorful — there’s no such thing as bad shio-koji karaage!

Karaage Furu Furu — 500 yen
Choose your favorite flavor seasoning: cheese, takoyaki, Napolitan, or black pepper — and shake it onto your fried chicken!
It’s interactive, delicious, and a huge hit with kids!
There’s also Spicy Sweet-Sauce Karaage (8 pieces) — 600 yen.
Seriously, this is the ultimate snack lineup.

Frankfurter Sausage — 150 yen
Beni-Haruka Roasted Sweet Potato “Sweet Potato” Dessert — 500 yen
Made with Beni-Haruka, one of Japan’s most prized sweet potato varieties — pure bliss for sweet potato lovers!

They also serve kakigori (Japanese shaved ice)!
The soft serve crowning the ice float is made from ukokkei (silkie chicken) eggs — yes, really!
The Must-Try Menu Item

The photo doesn’t quite do it justice, but they kindly showed me actual ukokkei (silkie chicken) eggs.
The one on the right looks white at first glance, but it’s actually a delicate, beautiful pale blue!
I was completely amazed — I had no idea such gorgeous eggs existed in nature!

And those eggs are the star of the soft serve!
Ukokkei Egg Soft Serve — 400 yen
Mini Size — 200 yen
Toppings — +50 yen
There’s also a Mont Blanc-style version:
Beni-Haruka Roasted Sweet Potato Soft Serve — 550 yen

I went with the staff’s recommendation —
Ukokkei Egg Soft Serve — 400 yen!
For your first time, skip the toppings!
That was the friendly tip from the staff, so I enjoyed it plain.

Because it’s made with real eggs, the soft serve has a beautiful golden-yellow hue!

No fillers, no unnecessary additives —
just pure, rich egg flavor in soft serve form!
The slightly firm texture melts beautifully on the tongue. It’s a richness completely different from regular milk-based ice cream, with a refreshingly clean finish that’s absolutely heavenly.

It even comes topped with cute little marshmallows!
The fluffy marshmallows pair perfectly with the rich, creamy soft serve.
This ukokkei egg soft serve is genuinely one of the most unique and delicious treats I’ve had in Kumamoto — refreshing yet rich, all in one!
