Our family loves exploring local farmers’ markets,
and we were on the hunt for a new spot nearby!
What we discovered was…

Talk about a surprise!! 😆 This is no ordinary farm stand —
we arrived at the most stylish farmers’ market you’ve ever seen 🚙💨✨

Today we’re introducing Mashiki Farmers Village Fam & Mashiki Market, located in Miyazono, Mashiki Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture.

It’s about a 5-minute drive from the Mashiki-Kumamoto Airport IC.
From Route 2 (Daini Kuko Sen), turn onto the Mashiki-Kikuyo Line and you’ll find it.
Just look for the “IN” sign at the entrance!

There’s a huge parking lot, so no stress finding a spot.

So many buildings — which one is the shop?

Here’s the layout: the right half of the property houses
three production facilities — for dairy, vegetables, and meat processing.

The lovely roofed building in the back is the processing facility.The signage is so cute too! 😊Look closely at the map and you’ll see, on the left side of the property,
Mashiki Shokudo (restaurant) and our destination — Mashiki Market.

The whole complex together is called Mashiki Farmers Village Fam — got it! (　・ω・)

The lawn area is wide and beautifully kept!
Kids can run around while you shop — perfect for families (*^^)v

Past the terrace of Mashiki Shokudo, you’ll spot Mashiki Market in the back.
It’s a stylish building made from a renovated black shipping container 😍
(We’ll save Mashiki Shokudo for another visit!)Now let’s step inside! 😆

First up — heaps of fresh local vegetables,
plus artisan condiments, sweets,
dried fruits, frozen meats, handmade chiffon cakes, and more.
It’s a cozy space, but packed with treasures from corner to corner.

You’ll even find Merukoro bread, the famous popular bakery from Aso.

Potato Sticks — 250 yen
The perfect snack 😋

Transparent soy sauce?! — 520 yen
No more stress when the kids spill it! lol

And as featured on TV — Sekiryu Stick Ramen — 180 yen

Okada Coffee Ice Pops — 150 yen are available here too!
They also have soft-serve ice cream.

Enjoying these treats with the kids on the lawn outside
makes them taste even better 🔅🔆

cheeses, and yogurt 🐮

Drinkable Yogurt — 690 yen

And there’s even a sample to try! So happy 😍 Rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious.

Fromage Frais — 798 yen

A fresh cheese — and another one we got to sample.
The taste sits somewhere between cheese and yogurt.So delicious!!

And here’s the cured meats section.
Jambon Blanc — 640 yen

A ham made from Aso Shizen Buta (free-range pork). Look at that beautiful cherry-blossom pink 🌸

Their classic sausages —
Saucisson — from 440 yen

These are guaranteed delicious ★

This time we picked up the Fam-exclusive cheese,
Fam de Queijo — 298 yen.

Such a soft cheese — it almost crumbles when you cut it.

It has a tangy, mature flavor — like yogurt that’s been fermented even further 😋

We also tried the Akaushi Mortadella — 600 yen
(made from Kumamoto’s famous Akaushi red beef)!

The whole peppercorns add a sophisticated kick,
and the umami flavor is rich and full. So good 😍

The cheese and ham pair beautifully together!
It’s an addictive flavor combination.

Perfect for a little luxury treat or as a special souvenir from Kumamoto 😉
