Today we’re visiting
“Chichigashiya” (also written as Nyugashiya),
a charming cake shop located in Suizenji, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City.

Famous for that legendary cake everyone is talking about! 😮
If you’ve heard locals rave about “Chichigashiya,” this is the place!

The shop sits along Keirinjo-dori, just off the Suizenji 1-chome intersection — easy to spot as you drive by.

Parking is convenient: 5 spaces in front of the shop and 2 more on the side.

🎂 Welcome to a wonderland of sweets!

The bright, cheerful interior is filled with cakes and baked treats lined up wherever you look.

A handwritten chalkboard shares the owner’s passion, and the friendly staff create a lively atmosphere — truly a confectionery paradise! 😍😍

Vintage milk cans add to the charm. The shop’s signature ingredient?
Premium Jersey milk from Oguni in Aso — the owner’s hometown 🐮

This rich, rare Jersey milk is something the owner grew up drinking,
and it’s used generously in nearly every cake. What a luxury!!

Beyond cakes, you can even buy 5 kg of rice from the owner’s family farm for 1,980 yen!And there’s even an original Chichigashiya tote bag!

Now, the legendary cake we mentioned earlier… here it is!

Mille Crêpes — 470 yen!!

Layers of delicate rice-flour crêpes,
stacked with custard cream and a generous mix of fresh fruit — a beautifully indulgent creation.
If you love cake, you simply have to try it at least once!

Since it’s autumn now, I went with something seasonal ♬︎♡

Another fan-favorite:

Mont Blanc — 450 yen 🌰

As a kid, I never quite got the appeal of mont blanc or sweet red bean ice cream,
but somewhere along the way they became my favorites.
Maybe it’s a sign of growing up (^^;;

The Mont Blanc features a tart base layered with whipped cream and rich chestnut cream 💛

That whipped cream really shines —
you can taste the difference the premium Jersey milk makes.
So rich, so delicious!!

I also tried the seasonal limited
Apple Tart — 450 yen 🍎 — almost too pretty to eat, with its glossy apple slices arranged like artwork ✨

The bright tartness of the apples paired with sweet cream — absolutely heavenly 💛
