Hello, everyone! 😊
This is Yuzu, a writer for Sarukuma 🌻

Today I’m excited to introduce you to a delightful little bakery located in Takase, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
【Hitsuji Pan】

“Wait! Hitsuji Pan?”

Yes, you read that right!

It’s the famous Hitsuji Pan (Sheep Bakery)!

Known for drawing long lines at local marchés (outdoor markets), Hitsuji Pan has now opened a permanent shop counter inside Shiroya Cleaning — a wonderful surprise for bread lovers across Kumamoto! 🥰

You’ll find it right at the foot of the Takase Ohashi Bridge 😊

Just look for the cheerful yellow noren (Japanese fabric curtain) — that’s your sign you’ve arrived!

And how about this signboard? Absolutely adorable! ❤️

Now, let’s step inside — here we go!

A lovely lineup of charming breads, all neatly arranged 😃

Here’s a fun fact about these breads:

They’re made with natural yeast — primarily apple yeast! ☆

You can really taste the craftsmanship and care!

This little beauty is the one I picked up too —

Melon Pan 🤩

So plump and adorable! 😍

And here we have a dark chocolate bagel

— with that adorable little sheep figurine right beside it 😆

And this one is something special —

A collaboration with Otsuka Curry from Nagomi Town:
Keema Curry Bread

It’s so popular that it often sells out!

On the day I visited, they had already sold out, but I’m definitely curious about the
Campagne and the Mochi Anpan for next time!

After all, mochi and sweet red bean paste are always a winning combo!

Even the display plate is irresistibly cute 😍
and there are little sheep tucked here and there 🥰

In a word — everything here is simply adorable! 💕

Recommended Menu Items

The first item I tried was the:

Keema Curry Bread — 180 yen

Can you see it?
Generously packed with rich keema curry!

The meaty texture is wonderfully satisfying, and the curry flavor is absolutely delicious!
It pairs perfectly with the bread!

My daughter, a huge keema curry fan, absolutely loved it!
What’s more, this curry bread is baked rather than deep-fried, so it feels light — never heavy on the stomach 😄

Next up:

Melon Pan — 130 yen

Just look at it — that fine, fluffy texture 💕
Soft and airy, yet wonderfully substantial and delicious 😆

You can really sense that wholesome ingredients went into making this 😄
Important note: The shop is only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so plan your visit accordingly!

If you’re in the area, definitely stop by — you won’t regret it! 😃
