Hello, fellow travelers!
This is Binako, your Sarukuma writer ^^

Today I’m excited to introduce you to
“Kuichiya”, a charming bakery located in
Tsukide, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City.

One of the best things about Kuichiya? It opens at 6:00 AM, making it a perfect breakfast stop before you start your day exploring Kumamoto!
Parking is available right in front of the shop ^^

Even before stepping inside, the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread drifting through the air gets your appetite going (*´艸`*)

Inside, you’ll find a wonderful variety from sweet pastries to savory bread,
with displays arranged in a circular layout that makes browsing a breeze (*´Д`*)

Fresh batches of bread are constantly being baked and brought out — a clear sign of just how popular this place is!

They also offer a Daily Special Menu,
so checking which bread is featured on which day adds an extra layer of fun to your visit (^^♪

The sandwich and burger selection is impressive too!
Every one is generously stuffed with fillings — perfect for a picnic with the kids ♫

The drink selection is fantastic too — everything from coffee to juice!
It’s so nice being able to pick a beverage based on your mood that day (´;ω;`)

So adorable!!
They even have Anpanman character bread (a famous Japanese cartoon hero made into bread form) (*´Д`*)

Kids absolutely love these — guaranteed smiles all around!

Loaf bread is also available ^^
You can choose between 5-slice or 6-slice cuts, and they’ll even slice it for sandwiches if you ask!

What a wonderful service!!!

Right by the register, you’ll find black sesame paste for sale ♪
I’m a huge black sesame fan, so I’m dying to know what it tastes like…

That deep, jet-black color packed into the jar is just irresistible (*´Д`*)

Next to the register, freshly brewed coffee is sold for just 80 yen a cup (^^♪
They have jam too!

Pair some bread with a cup of coffee and you’ve got yourself a blissful Japanese-style morning break (*´艸`*)

Recommended Menu

This time, I tried the Choco Cornet (141 yen) and
Bacon German (173 yen)
!

First up, the choco cornet — my son’s recent obsession… lol
The inside is absolutely packed with chocolate, and even my usually slow-eating son was beaming, saying “It’s delicious!! I want more!!” lol

The Cornet & My Son.

Plus — and this is genius — Kuichiya’s choco cornets come wrapped in plastic wrap,
so you can enjoy them without getting your hands sticky!

Honestly, this is such a thoughtful touch!!

And now… the moment we’ve been waiting for.
Meet the Bacon German.

Just look at that bacon spilling out from both sides — already a masterpiece…!
And it’s perfectly crisped — I want to thank the chef before I even take a bite.

Sooo delicious!!!

The black pepper and mayo combo is absolutely perfect —
a match made in heaven!

And the bacon? Just incredible!!
I couldn’t stop taking bite after bite before even swallowing (*´Д`*)

Thank you for the wonderful meal!!
